Guinness World Records compiled a list of 50 most influential console (I repeat, console, not PC) games in history.

The experts who done this sucks.

IMO, Super Mario Bros. on the NES is the most influential game because of side-scrolling in the game. In almost every game on the NES you'll see side-scrollers like: Double Dragon, Castlevania, Link's Awakening, Contra, Mega Man, and so on. The side-scroller also influence the three Sonic the Hedgehog games and Golden Axe.
