UK, February 4, 2009 - Rockstar has revealed that a sequel to 2004's Red Dead Revolver is in the works, coming to both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in autumn this year.
Titled Red Dead Redemption, it's being handled by Rockstar San Diego and is to utilise the RAGE engine that's previously been put to such good effect in Midnight Club: Los Angeles and Grand Theft Auto IV. The original received a mixed response, inspiring a 7.5 from IGN veteran Doug Perry, who concluded that the game had "got some great ideas that seem to have had problems being fleshed out to their maximum potential." A trailer for a supposed Red Dead Revolver sequel was amongst the first batch of games to be shown for the PlayStation 3.

<!--- end image div -->Set at the turn of the 20th Century, Red Dead Redemption tells the story of former outlaw John Marston in a game that's to feature an open world that takes in the expanse of the Wild West – and doubtless will play host to many memorable characters and gunfights.
"The team at San Diego has massively exceeded our expectations with the sheer depth of experiences in Red Dead Redemption," said Rockstar's Sam Houser. "The seamless combination of breathtaking beauty and intense action, all woven together with strong plotlines in a massive vibrant, rural environment is mind-blowing. We think this game helps to push the limits of what an open-world gaming experience can be."

Re: Red Dead Redemption
I played this and Gun, and my memory is hazy, so I can't remember which was which, but at the time, I think I remember preferring Gun. Still, I'll probably get this when it comes out.
