Shin Megami Tensei returns to PS2
By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot Posted Jan 27, 2009 3:16 pm PT Japanese action-RPG Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon arrives May 12, bundled with exclusive plush doll.
Fans of Shin Megami Tensei may not be finished with last month's release of Persona 4 and its 60-hour-plus quest, but they've already got another installment in the long-running franchise to look forward to. Atlus USA today announced that it will bring Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon to the PlayStation 2 in North America.
Set for release on May 12, the game follows up on the original 2006 Devil Summoner, where the featured conflict was Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army. This time out, Raidou will look to thwart King Abaddon's plans for a demon-infested Tokyo of the 1920s. Demons aren't all bad, though, as players will be able to negotiate with and win the assistance of more than 200 throughout the game, mixing and matching them to breed more powerful entities and commanding their actions in combat situations two at a time.
If those demon dealings aren't enough enticement, every launch copy of the game will be individually numbered and come bundled with a free plush doll of the game's Raiho character. The game-and-goodie combo will sell for $39.99 when it launches May 12.

A lot of people didn't seem to like the first one but I thought the battle system was a nice change of pace from the normal turn based battles and enjoyed it just as much as other SMT games.

word, the PS2 will probably live a few more years, expecially if atlus keeps making epic games for it, also spinny, how was poison cloud? i heard people say it sucked, but others say it was great, i'll take your opinion
i knew as soon as i seen Spinoff have a thread on ps2 it was about this game. is this stuff really that good? it seems like you two always cream urself when he makes a new game and i hear they are remaking Persona for psp so should i snatch that shit or what?
I wouldn't say Atlus are the only ones. NIS, Gust and Namco are pretty good. Especially when they all join together for something like Ar Tonelico 2 To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
And Poison Cloud? Assuming you mean Eternal Poison. I wouldn't say it is bad but it isn't as good as other Atlus games. However, I am also not as big on strategy RPG's so part of my enjoyment being nowhere near something like Persona 4 is due to that. Doesn't help that I have been getting my ass handed to me and it seems like a game meant for the really hardcore strategy RPG fans.

The PS2 is the greatest console ever, in my opinion, I still play mine to this day, I got one when they first comeout, it died, I got a slimline one, its still alive, I still enjoy playing GTA III,Vice city,Sanandreas,Red faction 2,old SD games etc.

And when there is no hope,
"I'll smoke some crack, I'll shoot some dope!"
When theres no enemies,
"I sit and stare at my T.V.
and in my ignorance,
I'll be a slave and sycophant!"
