The flamboyant Portuguese has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea last September. The self-styled "Special One" won two Premier League titles, two Carling Cups and and FA Cup with the Blues but found himself axed after falling out with Russian owner Roman Abramovich. Mourinho replaces Roberto Mancini, who was axed despite winning three consecutive Italian titles and is the favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge following the dismissal of Mourinho's replacement Avram Grant. It is thought that Mourinho agreed terms with Inter some time ago, but his appointment could not be made official because of a financial wrangle between Inter and Mancini. A club statement from Inter said: "The Portuguese manager has signed a three-year contract and will work on the new project of the Italian champions, with the collaboration of Rui Farinas, Silvino and Andrei Villas Boas. "The deputy manager will be Giuseppe Baresi, who has spent his career with Inter and is currently in charge of the youth team. "Thanking Roberto Mancini and his staff for the success achieved in four seasons in charge of the team, everyone at Internazionale has the great pleasure of welcoming and wishing good luck to Jose Mourinho and his colleagues." It is thought that Inter will immediately target three of Mourinho's former Chelsea players - Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Ricardo Carvalho. Drogba has repeatedly stated his desire to leave Stamford Bridge and his disappointment at Mourinho's ousting. Lampard has yet to put pen to a contract extension while Portugal international Carvalho has been a Mourinho favourite since the pair were together at Porto.

Half of Chelsea will surely be transfered to Inter Milan but Mourinho says that the Milan team is good already that he only has to sign a few players *hint*hint*. Carlavho(sp?) is surely staying at Stamford Bridge hopefully because he is one of the most dependant defenders they have. Lampard moving out would be a huge blow but I doubt he will move after his tragedy with his mother. Deco is also a tranfer rumour to move to Mourinho's side. Could add alittle wingers and a new goalkeeper can make Inter a 5 star side. |

I find that hard to believe & think he will still go for Drogba. If Mourinho wants, he'll get Carvaliho which would be a great signing. Lampard could do well as he scores a lot from midfield & in Italy that would be crucial. Essien is the fourth but he is all action & would have a lot of adapting to do to play in Italy.
