| Re: Gerrard Named As Captain I think that Steven Gerrard will probably be named the permanent England captain come the world cup qualifiers. He commands respect for the dressing room, and you hardly hear of any off field antics of his. From the outside, John Terry seems like a bit of a jack the lad, one of the boys – hosting parties around his house, gambling nights, and enjoying general banter. That is all fine for a club captain, since they do need some ‘down time’ during the season. But for an international captain it is not good behaviour. I think Capello will favour the more clean cut Steven Gerrard. | |||||||||||||||
