Are you happy about this? He has after all served his time to gain the official residence qualification. Leave aside your thoughts on if he is actually good enough or not, I'm not interested. Would you be happy to see him selected for England (again for Welsh and Irish followers, imagine the position from your own nations view point)

I wouldnt have a problem with Almunia(they was also talk of Cudicini doing this a few years back and also the possibility of Kasper Schmichel doing it one day) playing for England, but I think we should see what we have got first, we have a few decent young England keepers, Scott Carson(dspite his mistake in the Croatia game he is still a very good goalkeeper), Joe Hart and Robert Green should hopefully provide the future for England goalkeepers.

In very rare instances I can understand it I guess but really it should be kept to a minimum. And yes I'm pretty sure those players "stolen" by Ireland were via family.

They should only be considered if there isn’t enough talent available. In the case of Almunia, I’d be against it (if I were an Englishman). There are plenty of keepers around. Scott Carson, Joe Hart, and even Paul Robison should still be considered as the top contenders for the England number one spot. Yes I know Robbos has dropped some clangers, but once he gets his confidence back, I’m sure he’ll be back on top form.
