Hamilton brace rescues Glentoran

Glentoran survived a scare to come from a goal behind to beat Ballymoney United 2-1 in the fifth round of the Irish Cup thanks to a Gary Hamilton brace.

Gareth McLaughlin scored on 17 minutes but Hamilton replied after 44 and 52.

Gary McCutcheon scored a hat-trick in a 6-1 defeat of Bangor and Kevin Braniff, Marc McCann and Wesley Boyle also netted with Andy Morrow replying.

Cliftonville beat Larne 4-2 with goals by Gary Kennedy, a Mark Holland penalty Vincent Sweeney and Chris Scannell.

The Inver Park men's goal came from Colm Kearney and a Ronan Scannell own goal.

A 58th minute Garth Scates strike saw Ballymena defeat Harland and Wolff Welders 1-0 while Newry strolled past Ballynure OB 4-0 thanks to strikes from Paddy McLaughlin, Peter Hynds, Ritchie Clarke and Paddy Quinn.

Stevie Coulter and a Ricky Higgins own goal helped Loughgall progress 2-1 at the expense of Ballyclare, Higgins also scoring for his own side.

Barry Meehan scored the only goal of the game for Glenavon against PSNI and Armagh came from a goal behind to see off Institute, Shea Campbell scoring twice to cancel out a Mark Scoltock effort.

Tommy Parker earned a replay for Dundela by levelling Aaron McKee's first half goal for Ards while Comber Rec and Laurelvale played out a goalless draw.

Tobermore against Donegal Celtic was abandoned at half-time with the score at 1-1, Anthony Lagan having scored for DC and Brian Tosh equalising for the home side.
