20/20

What are your thoughts on this newest cricketing concept?

I like it, but i don't think it should be bought into the international stage. It's a good local thing, but i'd still prefer 50 over games on the grandest stages of them all.

On another quick note "Ryan Campbell's 'paddle' shot over the Keeper" was actually invented by me a couple of weeks before he used it, i kid you not.

I wish my sex life was like ECW, first you get a One Night Stand followed by 2 months of nostalgic orgasms and then 6 months of constant sucking.

I really like it. It's been around over here for a few seasons, and it's definitely a crowd puller. I like the excitement coming into the last few overs with a team needing X amount off x amount of balls - and their lashing them all around the ground. Something which happens more in Twenty20, than in 50 overs.

And as for a bowl off when the scores are tied, that’s something to see! (Only Happened once though)

I'm not all up on 20/20 rules...what's a bowl-off?

Hahahaha, what the fuck is cricket coming to, a bowl off?

I say keep the 20/20 where it is now, it's a good novelty, but don't let it take the place of the 50 over game. It's not real cricket, it's more just a chance to watch the international players in a glorified back yard game. And once or twice a season, I'm sure that's gonna be a lot of fun.

Well if the teams are tied at the end of the game, they have a bowl off. like in soccer they a penalty shoot out.

In turn each team takes 5 goes to bowl and hit the wicket. Whoever hits the wicket the most in those 5 is the winner. If their tied after 5 goes, it's suddern death.

Is it like in soccer, where each bowler can only get one turn?

If not, McGrath would clean that up.

If so, it'd greatly disadvantage a team playing with only 4 full timers.

I'm not too sure actually. I think it's 5 different people, although I could be wrong.

I like 20/20. So long as people remember it's just for laughs and isn't really Cricket. All it's for in England is to bring money in for evening games (when people have finished work) and to try and get some then interested in the real game.

Well our telecast of the Australia v South Africa 20/20 finished a little while ago. It was incredibly awesome, just to see the players play in a different light. I like it because it's a novelty, so let's keep it at 2 or 3 a year for each international team and weve got ourselves a keeper of an idea.

Agreed. It's good as a tour opener to get people interested (a bit like as happened this summer over here between out two countries) but please let's not start taking the results seriously.
