I was just thinking about how unpopular the decision to try to get the Olympics in NYC was. It seemed like NOBODY wanted it here except the mayor. So I ask you guys, would you want the Olyumpics in your city? (or the closest city nearby) Why or why not?

If the Democratic National Convention was any indicator of how shitty the city can be then keep them away from Boston (at least until I am dead) I dont even want them in the US really.

A lot of it will be taking place up at Whistler though, which means it won't be madness in downtown Vancouver or anything -- except during hockey events of course. If I'm still living here in five years, I hope to check out a bit of the games.

Rep Power: 24 ![]() ![]() | I would have loced it being right downtown Toronto. I am guessing a lot of would take place outside of TO. We had a chance but our retarded Mayor messed things up. Cracking jokes in Africa about people being cooked in pots by native tribes. I am not sure exactly what the deal was but he was an idiot. We have enough stu now though to keep things interesting, but it would have been a cool experience. |
