Liverpool clinch Zenden signing

Liverpool have agreed to sign Middlesbrough winger Boudewijn Zenden on a free transfer after his contract expired at The Riverside.

The 28-year-old has agreed personal terms and passed a medical, and will complete the formalities on Monday.

He will sign in time to be eligible for Liverpool's Champions League qualification campaign on 13 July.

Zenden joined Middlesbrough on a permanent basis last summer after a successful season on loan from Chelsea. Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton said: "Bolo Zenden has passed his medical. We have reached an agreement with the player and expect the contract to be signed on Monday morning. "He will then be introduced at a press conference later that afternoon."

Im a red as you may know and I really wanted him b4 he signed for Chelsea, but I have to agree he has panned out as an fair to middling winger. Probably hold a place in most side but not the sort of player to take us to the next level.

I had a sig, once.

Alot of Transfer news today, here's some of the latest:

Experienced utility man Steve Watson has become the third player in five days to join West Bromwich Albion.

The 31-year-old has turned down the offer of a new one-year deal at Everton, to link up with Bryan Robson's squad on a three-year contract.

West Ham have completed a triple swoop for Cardiff centre-back pair Danny Gabbidon and James Collins and Charlton full-back Paul Konchesky.

Gabbidon, 25, Collins, 21 and Konchesky, 24, have signed long-term contracts at the Upton Park club.

from bbc.co.uk
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Firstly I think Steve Watson is a good signing for WBA, a solid defender who'll do the job asked of him at the Hawthawns.

Great to see Danny Gabbidon and James Collins get their chance in the Premiership. Would have liked to have seen Gabbidon go to a proven premiership side like Blackburn or Everton, but he's playing in the Premiership and I have no doubt he can cope. In regards to James Collins, I think he's a terrific young player, not quite sure if he's ready for the premiership, but we shall see.

Got nothing good or bad to say about Paul Konchesky, I think he's an avarage player, but will probably do well at West Ham.

Blackburn have completed the signing of Newcastle striker Craig Bellamy on a four-year contract.

The 25-year-old Welsh forward passed a medical and has agreed terms on a transfer thought to be just under £5m.

Bellamy found himself out of favour with Newcastle boss Graeme Souness after the two fell out last season.

Celtic, Everton and Aston Villa were interested, but Bellamy has chosen to link up with former Wales national coach Mark Hughes.
Bellamy had a successful spell on loan at Celtic during the second half of last season after his bust up with Souness.

from bbc.co.uk
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Granted Craig Bellamy isn't the most leathal of premiership strikers, but he does create chances for others. I think we've seen the end of Craigs childish acts, and hopefully now we'll see the best of Craig Bellamy. He's worked under Mark Hughes before and he knows how to get the best out of Bellamy.
