Chelsea will stage around 26 home games next season with an attendance around 41,000 per game. This is were the financial differences occur.

Here's something I found...it basically sums up the Yankees contracts. I'm counting 2006 for the total money that the players are owed (other teams may be paying a portuion of the salaries as well)

Alex Rodriguez: $133 million
Derek Jeter: $100 million
Jason Giambi: $65 million (including $5 million required to be paid if the team does not exercise $22 million option for '09)
Mike Mussina: $19 million (including $2 million buy-out if $17 million club option is not exercised)
Randy Johnson: $32 million
Johnny Damon: $52 million
Hideki Matsui: $52 million
Gary Sheffield: $13 million
Mariano Rivera: $21 million
Jorge Posada: $21 million
Carl Pavano: $31 million (including $2 million buy-out of $13 million option for '09)
Jaret Wright: $14 million
Kyle Farnsworth: $16 million
Shawn Chacon: $4 million
Octavio Dotel: $2 million
Ron Villone: $2 million
Tanyon Sturtze: $2 million
Bernie Williams: $2 million
Aaron Small: $1 million
Mike Myers: $2 million
Miguel Cairo: $1 million
Kelly Stinnett, Robinson Cano, Andy Philips, Scott Procter, Bubba Crosby, and Chien-Ming Wang combine for about $2 million

Total: $587 million

yes.

just so you know KJ, the Yankees total attendance last year was over 4,000,000 tickets sold. They averaged over 50,000 per game, for 81 home games.

Plus, they have their own tv network, and their merchandise is the highest selling of any major league baseball team.

They bring in an assload of money

If you read what I say again you will see it is about 11.5 Million U.S dolars, fair play to the players you cant blame them for being able to take that sort of money

Manchester United (I hate them) will be averaging about 75,000 people a game next season (Most of these people are form London or Ireland and not from Manchester)
