Re: TNA doesnt have one future main eventer worth watching!
Kurt Angle is the main event of today, thats why the first sentence of this thread said to take note of the word future.
As for AJ, Petey, Beer Money Inc, & MMG. Well TNA is going to have either a roster of short, highflyers as their main eventers or a bunch of wrestlers thrust into an underdog role.
Samoa Joe, Abyss, Hernandez, Matt Morgan, Robert Rhoode, James Storm, AJ, and Jay Lethal should be main stay, main eventers. However, because of the lack of a good push and the fact I just dont think many of them have the ability and appeal to be the future maineventers of the company for years to come, I cant see TNA having any future main eventers.
Re: TNA doesnt have one future main eventer worth watching!
Hmm. Well, firstly, Samoa Joe is a love him or hate him sort of guy. Obviously, this theory will get blown out of the water when someone chimes in with "well, I think he's OK...". I think that if he's booked correctly he can be a decent main eventer. That's said so much it's becoming a major cliche, but I think it's true. He might lack traditional psychology and storytelling etc. etc. but in-ring he's fantastic to watch. He's unique, if nothing else.
Then there's Hernandez. Often overlooked because he's one half of LAX. But really, he's the driving force behind that. He was booked to look strong than Sting recently on "iMPACT!". Sure, he might lack strong mic skills but he uses the hallowed technique of "just throw in a few Spanish words" to cover it up. In ring, he's a force. With little guys to throw around, he looks like a monster. Not to mention the guy is simply fearless. I think he'd make a good main eventer, personally.
James Storm could well be good if he has a chance to develop. To be honest, I think he's pretty damn good right now. Good mic skills, decent gimmick (which many mistake as a Stone Cold rip-off - 'cos he drinks beer and that) and solid in-ring skills. The signs are good; he's certainly a more orthodox choice than the other two I've mentioned.
I feel similarly about Roode but, petty as this may sound, he needs a new finisher. He should also try and expand on his character some more.
Then there's the one I'm reluctant to mention; Alex Shelley. A wrestling style which could be described as Dean Malenko-esque but incredible mic skills. The second best comedy heel in the company, to Kurt. He may do big things with the X Title, but I doubt it. I don't think TNA would ever push him, but if they did I feel he'd be ready.
And I didn't even mention AJ. Everyone knows he's awesome anyway, what's the point? Kookie Kutter Kruiswerweight Kaz is just blah.
