CHRISTY HEMME INJURED: UNABLE TO COMPETE THIS SUNDAY AT "GENESIS"
TNAwrestling.com has learned that Christy Hemme has sustained a neck injury while training in the ring with AJ Styles for Sunday's Women's Championship match.
According to TNA officials, Hemme will be unable to compete at "Genesis" against Awesome Kong.
Unfortunately, her injury will require surgery and she will be out of action for an undetermined amount of time.
On Sunday, TNA Management Director Jim Cornette will name a replacement to face Kong for the Women's Championship.
Everyone at TNA wishes Christy all the best and we will certainly update fans on her condition as we learn more information.
Sucks man, I was starting to enjoy her push. Now someone else will most likely get it and she will go back to being a nobody.
How come when a random eye candy diva gets pushed in WWE everyone says its a joke, but when TNA do it, people like it?
I was a fan of hers since the Diva search. She was the only one I liked out of the 2004 group. Unlike everyone else, she looked very comfortable being in front of people and she relied on charisma instead of just being "Blonde bimbo #455). Her entire WWE run, she had plenty of energy and seemed to want to improve. Before being released, she had wanted to go to OVW to try and train more.
I really feel that the story of this feud was great. You have a wrestler who everyone knows isn't the best, but she loves it. With her dream being a woman's champion, she gets matched up against the most dominant woman wrestler in America in over a decade. Can the underdog somehow achieve her dream or will the monster kill another hopeful?

I get that and I do understand that TNA makes it seem a bigger deal than WWE do, which I guess would explain most of it. However, I felt that their first match simply wasn't believable. Christy Hemme surviving against not only Kong, but also interference by Khan and Saeed, and nearly defeating her? It just wasn't believable at all. Made her look like a female John Cena. Supposed to be the underdog but not.

Doubt it considering they are already saying there will be a replacement named. It dont think its good business to change a match on the card and then actually have it. If they were to do the kayfabe thing they would probably say she might not make it, then have her show up, and Kong work the injury.
