Does the Frontline / MEM feud make any sense anymore?
Something has been bugging me about the current company encompassing feud going on in TNA right now. As I watch Impact last night, I started to feel like the whole MEM versus the Frontline makes little to no sense anymore. The Mafia specifically makes little to no sense storyline-wise at this point..
You have Kurt Angle, who right now is making disparaging remarks about Jarrett dead wife and threatens to break into Double J's house and play daddy with his two daughters.. yeah. You have Kevin Nash who openly cheats, makes no bones about just wanting to take out and cripple the young talent, blah blah. Same story with Steiner and Booker..
Then you have Sting, in the midst of all this completly uber heel behavior, completly against the character he's worked for.. ooo like what, twenty something years? Even now, like last night, we get in the same segment Angle talking about crippling Jarrett and mentioning his dead wife.. then Sting's weak ass "it's all about respect" promo?
It all feels disjointed and bloated. The bloated part coming from the like seventy member Frontline.. what the hell? What are Rhino and Team 3D doing in this angle? Joe, AJ, The MCMG's, Young, Lethal and shit, even Creed were fine and made sense in the context of a "young guys versus established former world champions" angle.. I guess being a part of the original ECW gives you hip edgy young guy status for life, or what?
Ick.. I just dead tired of this angle. The lame teasing of Sting turning on the MEM on every episode, the tasteless references to Jarrett's wife in Angle's promo's, the over exposure of Booker, Nash and Steiner.. all three of which need to go post haste.
Not to mention the fact since this angle started the ratio of promos to matches has slowly shifted to "hey, talking for twenty minutes is super entertaining" side of things.
Thoughts?

Re: Does the Frontline / MEM feud make any sense anymore?
It makes a lot of sense to me IMO, but it's getting boring. And personally, i like when they make real life shit in storylines, so i don't mind Angle metioning Jarrett's dead wife, cuz offesely Jeff is ok with it if he is letting Angle say shit like that. But Rhino and 3D in Frontline does make sense, they're fighting to give the younger guys that "super star feel" but the storyline is starting to suck, why take out Joe? I would of made MEM take out EY or both members of 3D instead.

Well first, changing alignment can be huge for a career, even if you were a face for many years. For some reason, a certain balding wrestler comes to mind, brother!
Second, they're heels, they're not supposed to make sense. As long as the MEM believes they're right, it does make sense.

Why wouldn't you take out Joe? He's a former world champ, and the biggest threat considered to the Main Event Mafia. Why take out EY, who means nothing really in this storyline, but that out the main guy, one of the biggest threats to the Mafia. That makes much more sense.

I don't know about that. To an extent you are right, but I think with a lot of the best heels you can see things from their perspective to a certain extent. It doesn't make sense for people to just turn heel with no justification. Obviously hypocrisy is part and parcel of being a heel, so I have no real issue with the preaching respect while not practicing it himself part.

But that's the thing, the MEM's whole issue is that they don't feel the younger guys respect them. The MEM are veterans, they already paid their dues of showing respect. From their point of view, they're beating the respect into the Frontline.
