X Title Semifinal Tournament- Alex Shelley defeated Eric Young. Sabin assisted Shelley with the win. Shane Sewell was the referee for the match. When he was heading up the ramp Sheik Abdul Bashir came out and slapped him and started to go at it with him. They brawled in the ring and Jim Cornette came in. Cornette told Sewell that if he warned him not to go at it with the wrestlers and even suspended and told him the next time he did he would have to fire him. Cornette tells Shane he is fired, to the amusement of Bashir. Cornette tells Bashir he knows this is what he wanted that's why he kept egging him on. He tells Shane he is fired, for 3 days. He will be back on the payroll with TNA starting Sunday as a wrestler and his first match will be at Genesis with Sheik Abdul Bashir.
- The Main Event Mafia come to the ring and Kurt Angle cuts a promo on Jeff Jarrett about their match at the pay per view. He says he shouldn't let BG James wrestle him tonight in the state of mind he is in cause he will hurt him. Sting takes the mic and says he didn't have any problems with Rhino until he decided to side with "them". Once Rhino started believing all the stuff they were saying then it got personal and for Rhino at Genesis it will be showtime. Nash grabs the mic and says they shouldn't wait till Genesis they should take out Foley and Jarrett tonight. Steiner says once Foley put his hands on them last week they won't be wrong for hurting him. Booker says they will get them tonight.
- Awesome Kong with Raisha Saeed, Rhaka Khan, and Sojourner Bolt defeated Alison Rain (I think). Squash match. Kong had a picture of Hemme with her.
- Matt Morgan defeated Robert Roode due to referee stoppage that Roode could not continue due to a knee injury he took when he got thrown over the top rope to the outside. Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed came on the ramp with the briefcase and made their way to the ring. Lethal said they would like to cash in their title shot now since Beer Money seems to be in perfect health.
- Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed defeated Beer Money to win the TNA Tag Team Titles. Storm, who wrestled in jeans worked most of the match. Pretty good match, Roode did wrestle some of the match. Finish saw Lethal hit Storm with the briefcase while the referee was trying to separate Creed and Jackie. Abyss and Morgan watched the match from the ramp.
- Kurt Angle defeated BG James. BG got busted open during the match and the finish saw BG tap out to the anklelock. Afterwards The Mafia sans Sting came out and Angle put a chair on BG's ankle and stomped on it till Foley and Jarrett came out for the save. The mafia went up the ramp and Brother Devon, AJ Styles, and Rhino came to the ring to check on BG. They took BG out on a back board. Jarrett cut a promo in the ring saying he didn't have to do that to Brian and all that's on his mind now is that he can't wait to be the **** out of Angle cause he is a no good S.O.B. Foley grabs the mic and also cuts a promo saying he saw himself last week and he knows he isn't the wrestler he used to be but at Genesis he will be as good as he ever was for that night. They show the Mafia backstage and they laid out all the other members of the Frontline. They head to the ring and Angle says he promised to take out Jarrett tonight and that's exactly what he will do. The Mafia surround the ring but Samoa Joe with an arm cast and lead pipe comes through the crowd and nails Angle. The Mafia retreat as Joe, Foley, Jarrett, Rhino, AJ, and Devon stay in the ring.
New champs, really? Way to continue the rivalry between Beer Money & Abyss and Morgan.
I am not a fan of the decision to give those guys the belts, but everything else was pretty good... apart from the continued Beautiful People idiocy.
At the end of the show TNA delivered something WWE simply can't anymore: Emotion. They actually made me want to see the PPV with that last match and the promos by Jarrett and Foley, both of which were excellent.
Can't wait for Genesis.

I dunno, Sting vs Rhino, Double J vs Angle, Mick Foley in a match... Its the 90's all over again. Not to mention the MEM vs Frontline stroyline is from the WCW era.

Yeah but its all about the build and making matches mean something. I laughed when those matches were announced, but they did such a good job hyping them on Impact. Making matches seem emotional and unbelievably personal is a great way to sell a PPV.
I wasn't happy with Foley's ring return coming in a 6 man tag, but after his promo I am just happy to see him in a ring, and I can't wait to see what happens in that.
Angle/Jarrett's first encounter was good, and I can't wait to see their second now the feud has escalated to this degree.

Just watched this and it must have been the first iMPACT I've watched in a good month or so.
First, the whole angle with Bashir is retarded. I can't remember the guy's name, but making a referee a wrestler makes sense in which universe?
The MEM promos were mixed and seemed to get worse as they went along. Angle was great as usual and made me want to see his rematch with Jarrett (watched this first match today as well, was pretty good though the finish was awful). Sting was also good at getting his point across. Then Nash just seemed kinda retarded wit the way he was talking to Sting yet looking directly down the camera. And he fucked up a line too. Oh and Booker is HORRIBLE on the mic.
Abyss's promo was also pretty bad. Must have missed the angle where BMI got him drunk because that sounds hilarious for all the wrong reasons. Abyss is so cringeworthy now. I know it's part of the angle but he comes across as just a big retard now as opposed to some awesome monster like he used to be. He seriously sounded like Rain man.
Hernandez looks like a giant Chavo Guerrero with his new facial hair. LAX are still bland though.
Not really sure what was the thought process behind the Roode injury angle. Surely one partner getting injured leaving the other to fight the odds is face booking? Horrible decision to give the belts to Lethal and Creed.
Beatiful People shit is awful, and BJ James crying with Jarrett was pretty hilarious. Bringing up Jarrett's wife makes me kinda of uncomfortable to be honest. The ending segment was also kinda bleh. I'm not keen on how most TNA in-ring promos are cut directly to the camera. The MEM was there before the break, they should have had them still out on the ramp imo. Jarrett saying "I've always lead by example" was pretty weak, as if we're meant to forget the years of him as a heel screwing the fans. Foley putting over his wwe career was pretty funny, but his promo just made it sound like the match will be full of garbage weapon overkill and ridiculous spots and all that other stuff that usually make up TNA hardcore matches.

I forgot to mention Abyss. They have pretty much ruined him now. His promo was a joke with the laughing and stuff. It is as if they are trying to make him the new Mankind but failing badly.
