Christopher Daniels should of been TNA World Champ
It's a bold statement, I know. Do you agree, though?
He's a veteran in the business, and a veteran in TNA for that matter. The Fallen Angel is one of the most tragically underused talents in pro-wrestling today. His mic work is great. His in-ring performances are better, which says a lot. TNA not making more of his feud with Sting is the epitome of the phrase 'dropped the ball'. He was on a roll, and then...nothing. The program was a dud, and to make matters worse they stuck him with the Curry Man gimmick. Fun at first? Yeah. Makes sense for the long haul? Absolutely not, ESPECIALLY as a part of the laughable Prince Justice Brotherhood.
The thread title says it, but I've just gotta say it again. Christopher Daniels should have been TNA World Champion by now.
Thoughts?

First off, TNA didn't stick him with the Curry Man gimmick, he asked for it since his Fallen Angel gimmick was going nowhere.
Daniels got royally screwed over by TNA. I still can't understand how two teams can put on a MOTY and really TNA's first major moment and yet none of them ending up doing anything past that of being tag team/midcarders. By the end of 2006, Daniels should have been a main eventer and received at least one world title shot on PPV. Sticking him with AJ as the Phenomenal Angels in 2006 was a step backwards, even if they were a hell of a team.

First off, it should say 'Christopher Daniels should'. I hate when people say of instead of have. >.>
Anyway, I don't think he should have. Sure, he could and probably should have been a main eventer. But he doesn't have the character, nor the charisma to be a World Champion that could take TNA forward.

Well, if you can't get the ROH World Title then you probably aren't worthy of the TNA title. Then again I do think Daniels shouls have got an ROH title run too.
I don't think the guy should be world champion, but I do strongly feel he should have been a main event guy. I mean, the guy elavated the X Division title to the best it ever was, and after AMW broke up, him and Styles kept the tag division from falling apart, so the guy has given TNA alot and he most definately "deserves" it.
Unfortunately, with guys like Booker and Angle around, the chances of someone like Daniels getting a shot is about 0.0001% likelyhood.
I fucking hate Curryman too.

I agree that he deserves it, and is certainly a good enough wrestler to warrant a World Title run. He was just a victim of circumstances really with TNA signing so many high profile wrestlers from elsewhere. He kind of got lost in the shuffle despite his brilliance in the X Division and the Tag Division with Styles back when TNA was good. He has been involved in some of the best TNA matches ever and pretty much had all the tools to be World Champion in my opinion, but at the same time I can see why he never was, as TNA signed big draws from elsewhere and gave them title reigns.
Curryman is a joke. Not funny in the slightest and sums up everything that is wrong with TNA. A real waste of a great wrestler. Apparently it was his choice though, so I guess he is just an idiot.

I should just add, Daniels really is too small to be world champion in a company like TNA unfortunately. So unless he bulks up like Styles I doubt he'll ever be in the running for a shot.

I never thought of his size as a problem. WWE has more of a reputation for caring about size and look, and they gave CM Punk the title, who isn't the biggest. I would still buy Daniels as a credible Champion regardless of his size if he was given the right build and hadn't adopted the horrible Curry Man gimmick.

Rey Mysterio can't. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
I know that was the whole point of his reign, that he was an underdog, but I don't think size is as important as it was. Daniels was shown to hold his own against guys like Styles and Joe in the X Division, so I don't see why he couldn't hold his own in main event.

I think he might come back as Christopher Daniels 'Fallen Angel' in this current storyline, AJ named him and Low Ki several times, I think it could be kind of epic but then again they might hold it off for a long while maybe even until something like Lockdown, but I would really like Christopher Daniels to return as Christopher Daniels... Curry Man is pretty funny yes but he's been around too long and it's not rly working out for him either is it? To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater.
