I was one of the main critics of the decision to give Sting the World Title at Bound For Glory, as it is boring seeing him constantly win the belt at Bound for Glory, and even worse when he is returning from an extended absence to defeat a young star like Joe.
However, does anybody else think it isn't looking like such a bad idea now? As had been mentioned, Joe was getting stale as champion and his reign wasn't as good as people had hoped (TNA's own fault for leaving it so late then booking it badly).
With the formation of the Main Event Mafia, we now have Joe chasing the belt, which will surely breathe new life into him, and we have the title in the hands of the mafia, which makes sense and is a lot more entertaining than one of the young faces holding the belt in this angle.
So did we criticize TNA too harshly after Bound for Glory? This is actually looking pretty good and it will only make it a bigger deal when AJ or Joe wins the belt back.

Sting as champ isn't boring at all. I think he's coming back... kinda full time. Especially if he wants to stay in this new angle, tbh. This whole battle between the whole TNA roster is making TNA go over greatly. Hopefully this will bring that TNA vs. WWE war soon enough.

CGS RECORD (2-0-0)
I WOULD HAVE BEEN 3-0-0 BUT CGS WENT UNDER.
I love this new sorta-heel Sting. I'd actually love to see him drop the face paint for now when he comes out to compete, really drive the point home that he's a "bad guy".. well, at least a frustrated pissed guy.. now. I say, if he's up to it, have him hold it for a while.. have Joe and AJ both chase him over the next few months, Sting progressively getting more and more heelish with Nash and company helping him hang on to the belt. Eventually leading to Sting turning on the MEM seeing the error of his ways.

OK, first off: Joe isn't chasing the belt. He isn't even allowed a rematch. AJ is the one going against Sting at Turning Point.
I still am against Sting being champion. Sure, it adds to the feud, but just what kind of a message does it send? He wrestled something like once in a year. How does that make him worthy of the belt?
Him in the MEM: yes. Champion: no. Hopefully, AJ is able to take the belt.

I didn't really mean Joe individually, more that the young guys are trying to take the belt off the MEM. The thrill is in the chase, and it makes a lot more sense having a mafia member hold the title than one of the young guys. That was my point. It will just make it a bigger deal when either Styles wins or Joe wins it back.

Joe's reign was really bad, and Sting just helps add even more credibility to the belt. If Sting gets a long reign, with good matches, I'll be happy with his run. Hopefully he'll put over someone like AJ in the end.

I have not really said anything said anything about this but I will now. So Sting having the belt is supposed to add some credibility to the belt but the last 3 years is having Sting win the title at Bound for Glory so what more can he bring to the belt, he has had a leave of absence which made Joe look weak in my opinion.
Only now is the championship starting to get the credibility with the whole angle with the MEM and the Originals but I still don't think it should still be on Sting. He has dropped the face pain which made him look more credible but, when I was watching TNA(correct me if I am wrong) Sting, the two times he came out did not have the TNA title over his shoulder.
Now, AJ Styles is supposedly next in line for the title but too me, it may be the wrong decision to have him win it before the implosion of the Main Event Mafia as it could also make the storyline better with the supposed implosion of the TNA originals which I would much rather see. The thing with the Main Event Mafia imploding does not really interest me because the only one I would want to see is Kurt Angle.
The World title situation with Sting in the Main Event Mafia ruins it with the legends title which really makes me think if AJ should get the title at turning point.

I can't remember the last good Sting match, so I doubt he will put on many of them.
And Gards, I agree that it made Joe look bad the way Sting came back from a leave of absence and immediately won the title, but Joe was screwed.
