Could another show help TNA?

Before I start, I bet most people will say no, but I truly believe a second show (Kind of like Smackdown was for the WWE) would really help the product.

TNA's biggest problem now a days is their booking. They have two hours a week to book all of these wrestlers and I think that is where most of their problems occur. You have like 2 singles titles for the male superstars, so that leaves a lot of the guys with nothing to do. And when they have nothing to do but still want to get on TV, here comes TNA with all these crazy segments and ridiculous gimmicks.

If they had another 2 hour show, then wrestlers would have a lot more time, and they could have more feuds. The title scenarios wouldn't be as big, so that could definitely help out a lot of the wrestlers. People always complain about TNA not pushing the younger talent, but with the main event scene right now, there really isn't room. The "midcard" title in TNA is the X Division Title, so that makes people like Nash stay in the main event scenario.

I might add some more positive signs of doing it later when I think of some.

So, do you think another show could help TNA? Would it hurt it? Other thoughts?

Considering how badly they book with one show, I certainly wouldn't want to see a 2nd TNA show. It would just be twice the nonsensical booking, matches with a load of flashy moves with zero selling or psychology, pointless backstage skits etc.

If TNA could book, then fine, but the only reason they are struggling with one show is that they can't book to save their lives.

I disagree with Tom.

I think they should have another show. Mind you, even if it was like a Heat an hour long show with mostly the lower-mid card guys to get them showcased and to further along feuds, it would be beneficial in using talent and not trying so hard to fit everyone in the two hours they have on Thursdays. If anything, it may help the booking process because they can focus on less individuals.

Unless the other show is Knockouts only (Preferably an hour at most), I have to say 'No' to this.

Adding another show is almost always a mistake. Most companies add another show at the height of their popularity and quality, but in TNA's case, it would be to fix their current issues. That right there can lead to terrible results. Let's look at what one secondary program did for another company.

WCW Thunder started out with a boom. It was added at a point when they were still getting better ratings and they assumed that it would just mean even more money for them. What happened instead was over saturating their product with the same stories even more. It made fairly good storylines get old even faster. It wasn't even too long when they couldn't handle booking so much TV (Think about this for a minute...WCW had 7 hours of TV every week) that Thunder started to suffer majorly. Once the WWE overtook WCW with the introduction of Smackdown, WCW was forced to change nights. Even then, it wasn't enough to help Thunder. Near the end especially, WCW was forced to tape Thunder the same night as Nitro (Taped before Nitro) to save costs because Thunder was costing them too much money. Thunder may of gave a few good moments (Most notably two of the Best of 7 Matches between Chris Benoit and Booker T), but it ended up hurting WCW more than helping.

Before adding a show, you need to look at the reasons why you need another show. Once you see the issues you currently have, it's important to see if you can fix them with what you have already. If the problem is not enough time for other feuds, maybe the real problem is that they're devoting too much time for current feuds.

It's been just over a year (October 4, 2007) since iMPACT has went 2 hours. That was supposed to be the answer that all TNA fans were saying TNA needed to get good again. Yet, here we and people are now saying that they need yet another show? Call me crazy, but if an extra hour didn't help enough, how will another show help? Fans today have no concept of the fact that just ONE hour is more than enough to do everything you need done. If TNA wants to be able to have time for all storylines, then they need to cut back. Cut back on some useless segments that does nothing, but repeat previous segment outcome and purpose. With an one hour show, it's okay to not feature every storyline per week. Hell, it's expected. With two hours, you should have time to feature every storyline and do a couple random matches. TNA needs to learn how to book before they even get another 10 minutes, let alone another TV show.

Good point about the two hours. I forgot about that, the way TNA fans talked about it like the moment TNA becomes a challenge to WWE, and how it would become amazing. Pretty funny considering how bad the product is now. They definitely don't need more time.

Even if somehow TNA got a second show I bet TNA would hire more people and still have too many people running around instead of dividing them a bit on 2 shows.

I too forgot about that. TNA were even saying that in interviews with Dixie Carter and Double J.

As Jim said, as long it is a Knockouts only one hour show in my opinion.

Coming up with a second show would be next too useless as TNA an't really book and with one show probably overshadowing the other then it would ruin the company. A Knockouts only show would be very entertaining in my opinion and would give more time for shows too develop on the normal TNA iMpact
