So last night we heard that Sting will be facing the TNA World Champion at Bound For Glory, and after Joe retained his title, its Sting vs Joe at Bound For Glory. This will be the 3rd consecutive year that Sting has main evented TNAs top PPV, and to be honest I am sick of him. I wanted to see Joe vs AJ as the Bound For Glory main event this year, but I forgot that Sting has to appear in the main event every single fucking year. He isn't even that good anymore. Sure, he is a big star and will always be a credible challenger, but come on, how old is he? His character sucks. How can you have a dark mysterious character like Sting while at the same time showing him interviewed without the makeup and calling him by his real name? Its a joke.
The last two years have seen Sting win the title at Bound For Glory. Last year, he defeated Angle for the title only to lose it back to him a couple of weeks later, which was pretty laughable and a good way to make your top PPV look unimportant. Surely he won't beat Joe, but even if he jobs, it won't really put Joe over anymore than a win over someone else would, and this was the year we had to see two new guys in the main event of Bound For Glory (new meaning not guys like Sting who are more famous for their time elsewhere). At this point I wish Sting would just leave. He shouldn't be main eventing.

I think that Sting still can put on a hell of a match. But it seems like the backstory they give him, always makes the match more enjoyable. With this whole "no respect" backstory I just see the match being mediocre and probably not main event material. Personally, when I heard Sting would facing Joe and Bound For Glory I was pissed. I was hoping on being able to see Jeff Jarrett vs. Sting at Bound For Glory.
I'm sure they're having Sting main event right now because he isn't going to be with the company much longer. I'm sure he'll probably retire shortly after the year is up. I could see him facing Jarrett and maybe a couple of younger guys and putting them over before putting his boots back up.
I think they've pretty much ditched the mystery angle as he was in WCW. WCW he like never talked and barely ever showed his face. It's like he has mood swings in TNA, he'll be all hiding in the shadows for several weeks then all of a sudden he will come out and reveal everything and anything personal about him. When he gives interviews now he is like telling us all his life story.
Overall I agree, Sting really doesn't need to be in the main event. I also would rather see AJ Styles vs. Joe because that would be one hell of a match. But seeing Sting wouldn't really disappoint me. I don't mind Sting and I'm still a Joe fan. I just think Sting vs. Jarrett and Joe vs. Style would have been the better route. But who knows, Jarrett could pull a couple of strings and storyline-wise take away Sting's title shot. You never know what booking decision TNA will do.

I like Sting. He serves a purpose. But I am honestly sick and tired of him being in the main event of BFG yearly. People compare it to Undertaker who has been for two years, which to an extent is a fair comparison, except with the WWE you get 2+ main matches people want to see and you could argue is the "main" event of the evening. Unlike with TNA where the last match is THE match. It just gets tiresome.

Well it all depends. We don't know what the full Bound For Glory card is, they could have two matches that might be worthy of a main event spot. With having Joe wasting his time with Sting it would make sense for TNA to tack on another match to get people to buy the Pay-per-view. I mean, it is there biggest of the year, I'm sure they'll put in some other good matches.

Honestly, this guy puts on good matches, but really he should go away. Hopefully Joe beats him at BFG. I'm sick of having * vs Sting, especially now. He had no reason to be in the main event, and honestly I think its just in his contract that he has too.
I am very excited to see Sting go over Joe, I don't believe they met yet in singles competition so it should be a fresh match. Let's hope there is no Kevin Nash or other interferences this year because I always like when a match is clean especially the main event of the biggest PPV of the year, they shud not do too much. I hope Sting's reign as champion is longer than last year (2 days) and I hope he faces some new talent in the next weeks to come.
I question how attacking people from behind ears Sting a shot at the Championship. TNA creative should have had Sting earn the shot through matches over X division wrestlers, and people like Rhino. Then I wouldnt mind so much, but to have him spend a month hitting people from behind and gaining a Championship shot is just stupid.
Sting needs to retire soon, no doubting that. the new guys are also low on respect, Sting needs to realise that the days where Sting walked in and the newbie's would let him sit down are dead over. I truly believe Vince was the one who actually stopped this, he made Wrestling Non-Believable and even though he got quite a few more viewers, he ruined the professional in professional wrestling.
