As most of you probably heard, Foley has come to an agreement with TNA. No one knows if he's going to have a 90 day non-compete clause after his WWE contract expires, but we do know that he is heading to TNA when he can. He is known as the Hardcore Legend, and TNA is known for having more stipulation matches than the WWE. I'm not sure if he's going to be a full time wrestler there, or be in a managerial role.
So, what will Foley do in TNA? Any feuds? Matches you'd like to see? Should he wrestle? Manager?

I actually think it is a good signing no matter what they plan to do with him. Foley is a guy who still has quite a big following and people will be tuning into TNA to see what they are going to do with him. I hope he is used sparingly and isn't just thrown into random matches. I can't see him being full time so hopefully they will just have him wrestle a match every few months and make it seem like a big deal.
There are other things he could do. Manage, commentate, be an authority figure etc. There are a lot of possibilities. I want him to wrestle but they should be careful not to overexpose him, and they shouldn't ask him to do crazy spots in hardcore matches with Abyss etc. He is too old for that really, with too many injuries taking their toll on his body as it is. Hardcore is fine but nothing stupid.
Why am I thinking a Foley/Sting match would be good? They have history.

I'd like to have him feud with Sting, and at this point it makes sense. Sting teasing a heel turn, could bring Foley to alter his ways and turn him into the Sting he knew from the early 90s. Other than that, he should really be helping the younger talent get over, hopefully some feuds with Abyss and Joe to enhance their credibility.
Whatever happens, I hope TNA doesn't whore him out (like with Angle and Booker T) so he quickly looses his aura. They should keep him how they kept Sting in 2006, make frequent appearances on Television and wrestle only on PPVs. That way his matches have a bigger feel and is less painful for him, especially being so late in his career.
Ideally, I'd play up the angle of Abyss fighting his "hardcore" side and urges then I'd have Foley come in as a HEEL and I'd have him tempt Abyss and push him until Abyss snaps and attacks someone and destroys them. Then I'd build this up and build towards an Abyss/Foley hardcore match. Naturally this would be garbage in real life, but if I was in control I'd atleast make it more about the story of Foley pushing Abyss to his limits. Naturally Abyss would go over, though they would play on the fact that despite winning the match Abyss had to resort to becoming the animal Foley wanted him to become, so Foley can still look strong in defeat. From this onwards I'd have Abyss as a heel/tweener with Foley as his manager/voice which could lead to Abyss winning the belt off Joe.
Alternatively I'd build Foley up for a title match with Joe and have them fued leading up to a match which would end in a double DQ as both men attack each other with weapons, which in turn would lead to a a gimmick match where Joe kicks Foley hard and bumps like a bitch before finally going over.
Or he could replace Kevin Nash as the resident on-air personality who takes up way too much air time.

Good idea, but I can't see it happening, and as you mentioned, if it did happen TNA would screw it up. Remember Abyss/Sting, which looked like an intriguing and original angle but then the storyline went out the window and was replaced by meaningless shitty garbage matches.
I hope Foley doesn't wrestle for a long time. They need to build up his in ring debut.
My main concern is the way they introduce him initially. TNA have proved in the past that they have no idea whatsoever of how to retain someone's aura. Take Judas Mesias. His debut was so exciting, yet next Impact he is facing Eric fucking Young, looking like just another wrestler rather than a monster, and backing down to Rhino.
I can see them throwing Foley in a meaningless match just to try and get a good Impact rating.

Foley could feud with Abyss telling him he's become a softy and they have a hardcore match with Foley beating Abyss with weapons and Abyss not using any until Foley takes it too far and sheds blood.

Yeah I think Foley could make that work. He could talk about the passion he used to see from Abyss when he was willing to do whatever it took etc, and that Abyss is nothing now he doesn't take it to extremes.
