I got this idea from another forum that I was on and I thought it would be cool to bring it over here at Wrestling Society. Basically what you do is is that I will be posting a wrestler, and you have to rate them from a scale of 1-10 and explain why you rate him the number that you did. Very easy. So let's get this started.

Samoa Joe is one of the most phenomenal wrestlers that I've ever seen. For a big guy, he has so much agility and can move around. I like the fact that he is so versitale with his style. He can go pound for pound with anyone. When I started to see his in-ring work in ROH, I knew right then and there that he was going to become one of the greatest wrestler in the business.

Several years ago Joe was hands down one of, if not the best worker in the US and perhaps even the world too. He was putting out fantastic matches with a whole range of opponents, he was capable of playing a huge array of roles and his popularity was almost untouched. However, he has slipped along way from that in my eyes, he seems alot more sluggish than he used to be and if I'm being completely blunt, TNA have turned him from the badass Samoan ass-killing machine into a fairly tame wrestler. Having Kevin Nash as your manager, demanding more money and a bunch of other stuff has hurt his charactor badly imo. His mic skills have never been a huge thing for Joe, I've always enjoyed his more calm, charismatic promos but when he cuts an angry one it seems to just be yelling JOES GONNA KILL YOU really loud over and over. I havent enjoyed a Joe match in so long it's unreal compared to how great he was three years ago.
I haven't seen his ROH/Older TNA stuff so I'm gonna rate what I see right now.
Joe, right now is a bit of a meh in my book. For someone who is called the Samoan Submission Machine, he doesn't pull out many submissions. Also, as Steve said, Nash was a horrible move. Joe had already established himself as a pretty good wrestler in TNA, I don't see what value Nash was at all. His promo's have been really repetitive too, most are just incoherent shouting of the same sort of basis, like I'm gonna get you next week or similar.
7/10.

Like Steve said, angles like wrestling for money/wanting a big paycheck/etc. have ruined his credibility forever more. However, not looking at the character TNA is making him portray, he does pretty much live up to the hype when he first arrived in TNA, and that is that he isn't the flashy gimmicks or involved in some love angle, he just wants to get in the ring, kick some ass and prove he's the best in the world.
As far as wrestling skills go, he doesn't know how to sell and has slacked alot recently, if he put some more effort in there's nothing to stop him from being the best talent in TNA as he's already proved he's capable of taking that spot.

Oh and wouldn't this better suit the TNA section..
