Is Samoa Joe to blame for the drop in ratings?

Joe is the TNA Champ, so do you think it is his fault for the drop in ratings?

I bet a lot will dissagree, but I think Joe is fully to blame for the ratings drop. Angle as the champ maintained a 1.0-1.1 rating. Joe as the champ as averaged a .8-.9 rating.

The main reason that it's Joe's fault is because he is not a draw. Outside of the IWC, Joe isn't a big name. You have a lot better chance of getting new viewers if Kurt Angle is your champ. They should've waited to put the title on Joe, because he isn't quite marketable yet, and TNA is a growing company. Once you have a strong fan base, that's when you put the belt on a future star. Nobody is going to watch if there's a nobody as your champ.

People like to blame the booking. TNA had the same bad booking when Angle was the champ. Since Joe became champ, the ratings have gone down. If it were due to booking, the ratings would've started to decrease way before Joe became the chamion. The product is exactly the same, except for a new champion. Put one and one together, and it's quite obvious that it's Joe.

If anything its his lame ass booking since becoming champion. His first title defense should have been a rematch against Kurt Angle, not Big Puppa " I'm Hungry" Pump and Kurt Angle, which angle pretty much no showed for anyway. Now look at his second defense, a match against people who he really has no one on one build up with. TNA as a whole has just been crap since moving to Spike.

the booking can be held to a small degree responible for the ratings droping. the big problem tna has is marketing. tna needs to market their wrestler and have them appear on something beside rf video shoot and bubba love sponge radio show. marketing them can improve ratings. the marketing could wonders to help joe become a huge draw for tna. some of the fans could have been turned off by the main evnt being changed. it wouldn't of been bad being steiner vs joe. i personally liked their match back at slamaversy. adding kaz to it kinda of ruined it imo. i have nothing against kaz but he is not nessary main event level yet.

Maybe if something other than the Knockout division could be showcased right, people would watch.

Booking and marketing.

They had Angle on talk shows, at live events for MMA and stuff like that, but Joe hasn't done that. Thats what they need to improve, make Samoa Joe a well known name. People knew Angle. Advertise him as the guy who BEAT Angle's ass.
