Now, I am not the biggest fan of Total Non Stop Action as I do not watch the product as much as I use to if it were still the 2003/2004 product. But why don't I watch thee TNA!? They gots Joe, Sabin, Shelley, Daniels, STINGZ!?~....Whoopie doo? Usually I would care for such a stacked roster, but not at this time. What is my problem? Nothing. It's their problem! TNA cannot
market correctly at all.
Every time I change to see what is going on, it's all the same. How so? It's Tenay and Don West hyping up the main event like it's God in a Dennys, or Jesus joining the presidential election. But isn't that good? No, you can hype it up to a certain extent but not to the point where it will make the viewers not want to watch it. Also, they try to make each episode of IMPACT! better than the week before, but with the type of booking going on as of late...it certainly won't help. But, that's just my opinion.
in 2004, TNA knew it's market. It was the alternative to WWE. It was innovative, it had the X division and we saw stuff we had never seen before unless we watched the Indies. We saw people like Chris Sabin, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Alex Shelley, Austin Aries and even Roderick Strong and they always put on great matches. Now I ask myself...Where has that market gone? They have completely buried what has made them them and turned the division into a horrible attempt of humor.
Now, I'm going to use the recent rating news as an example. TNA were not glad with the ratings they received for IMPACT! after Samoa Joe's win and LockDown. Now, I'm sure most of us would care if this were 2004-2005. But, they completely market him wrong. First of all, he wasn't even wrestling. I'm glad they tried to target the MMA market but still...we're wrestling fans, give us that. Second of all, the storyline leading up to the title win could have been so much better and not have be to revolved around Money. Just have Joe go out there and kick ass like he use to, and give him the title shot..
...I'll stop. I can go on and on.
