I have always heard people saying that TNA is a more wrestling based product than WWE, and featured styles of wrestling that are never seen in the E. Until the last couple of years, this was indisputable, but now, many are criticising TNA for being a carbon copy of WWE.
What aspects of TNA draw you to the product, and what elements do you feel makes TNA more entertaining and gives it an edge over WWE?

I pretty much watch TNA because it's a wrestling show. It also offers some interesting storylines such as, Petey Pump and Big Poppa Pump, or the AJ Tomko/Cage storyline. TNA ends up failing on most of their storylines in the end, but for before the usual failure, many of their storylines have the potential for, and are major entertainment. Other than that, I like the seemingly constant debuts of new wrestlers such as Rakahn(sp?), Consequences Creed, ODB, Matt Morgan, and Amazing Kong. Speaking of Kong and new wrestlers. The womans division is way way better than WWE's, a few knockouts have questionable wrestling skills, but they are nowhere near the title. The constant debut of new wrestlers adds to the possibility of new matches, a TNA card rarely feels like its been done before where as many WWE shows feel like the same thing week after week. I wouldn't say that TNA draws me over WWE, I just watch it because some aspects of the show are an alternative. Oh and I like highflying, fast paced wrestling which is in the X division,WWE has next to nothing that seems faced paced.
I would say the main difference is unpredictability. Sure, sometimes this is a bad thing, but whenever I watch Impact or a TNA PPV, I get the feeling that anything could happen. This is not the case in WWE, and although I believe WWE do book better in general, TNA's booking is not as conservative and it is more unpredictable because of it.
The fast paced wrestling point is valid, but we have seen a reduction of that in the last few years as TNA has signed more big names and taken the focus off the X Division.

However, if you notice TNA is building back up the X division. They have an ongoing angle with Socal Val, Lethal, and Dutt. Not to mention they have given Sharkboy a character which doesnt make him look like a jobber, Prime Time is getting some in ring action, Daniels got a gimmick that works, and Consequences Creed just debuted. Creed has got my attention in the ring right away because his style reminds me of Kofi Kingston. I think Creed could be crucial to the reformation of the X division. If 187 Homicide shows up in the division, watch out!
I like TNA's incorporation of shoots into their storylines. It's nice little nods to the smarks while also providing interesting storylines for marks. Recently for example, they turned the whole report about tension between Velvet Sky/Angelina Love and the girls who've been in TNA longer like Traci Brooks into an actual storyline.
I also enjoy how TNA isn't afraid to take risks and incorporate other ideas into their matches and booking, etc. For example, the MMA-style match worked at Lockdown between Joe and Angle. Bringing Frank Trigg in for commentary was a nice touch and the packages with using a legit MMA fighter in Marcus Davis also added to it. They even brought him in for the actual match.
TNA has their over-the-top gimmicks which are pretty unattractive, but I still believe TNA works harder to bring more realism to their product while understanding wrestling is choreographed.
Well with TNA, there are as many limitations that the superstars have. So this would mean that they are willing to risk there body more due to the fact that there are no restrictions for them. If any of you remember when Paul London use to be the 450 splash, the WWE took that away because it was too risky. Then they limited stars to what they could do. But when you watch TNA, you see some of the greatest high flying stunts. Like last night at Lockdown, there were at least 10 times where different people jumped off the top of the cage. We are lucky to see that in one match out of the whole year that is a cage match. Then the wrestling is the main focus in TNA. But in WWE, it is about the Storylines rather then the matches. Sure TNA is starting to be a little like WWE, but they have better divisions then the WWE.
I just think it is overall more entertaining for WRESTLING which makes a show better

lol why do people always try to emphasize wrestling when talking about TNA. What do you think Triple H and HBK do on Raw, square dance!? To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
I just find the whole product bang out entertaining, it really lives up to the name 'total non-stop action' and that's what I like about it. You don't have long entrances, pauses on the mic every 5 or so seconds during a promo, etc, it's just a show that gets down to the point, and let's you enjoy an action packed event. I mean, you rarely find promos go beyond 15 minutes. In that sense, it's really different from WWE.
I can't really say 'dubE rasslin is teh sux0rs TNA > WWE' because both companies have great wrestling. But I guess I just prefer TNA all round, from it's quick pace, to it's gimmicks (though not all are good) and adapting the 'shoot' style into the company, and I can relate to the company from all different aspects.

I don't see how having more moves makes it better wrestling.

Well what I mean by more moves is more high flying moves. That is what makes a show more exciting. When you see Technical match after technical match after technical match after technical match. It gets really boring. And with the cruiserweight division pretty much gone, there is no high flying matches anymore. That is what TNA has that WWE doesn't.
