Right...basically I thought of this after reading the 'Foley to TNA?' thread and the question of whether he would raise TNA's profile came up quite a bit so what I am interested in finding out is are there any wrestlers out there (of course not attached to WWE) who you think WOULD raise TNA's profile?
Their is a shit load of talent that would raise the profile. The problem being cost & age. Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, Goldberg, Brock Lesnar etc etc etc.
All big names & all would attract intrest of varying levels. They would also demand a lot of money (Goldberg) or be way past it (Hogan), or a combination of both (Flair & Bret).
I personally dont want to keep seeing big names coming in. I'd much rather guys like Chuck Taylor, Vin Gerard, Pelle Primeau, come to think of it, the majority of the CHIKARA roster. Guys who are good at what they do, arent that well known so can be established as TNA talents, young & cheap compared to others.

Why is everyone obsessed with Foley joining TNA and the profits he will bring in? This never happened with Angle, Booker or any other WWE talent to grave the TNA ring? Foley is a commentator, he wont be in any type of in-ring action, and if he is then it will be limited. Foley wont be increasing any type of profits unless its a 'Ratings for Commentary Watch'!
I think people are obsessed with Foley's move because he's been a WWE guy for the best part of 10 years, whereas the likes of Angle, Cage and others were not with WWE as long (and therefore not as associated with wwe).
In terms of raising TNA's profile immediately, it would take someone the likes of Trips or Taker or Rock. However, at best, this may provide a month's worth of ratings and internet talk.
TNA's roster is large enough as it is and some of the guys barely even get used now, what logic would it be to bring in more guys, let alone indy wrestlers who won't draw a dime.
If Kurt Angle can't raise their profile, then not a lot of guys will. TNA's audience is people who watch TNA and WWE, or just wrestling in general. I highly doubt theres many, if any, people who watch TNA and nothing else.

I will never understand why TNA has never taken a gamble on Chris Hero this guy has the size and ability to be a star for TNA...he has to be worth a punt.
I also think chris hero would make a exellent addition to the TNA team, but with hero you have to have claudio castagnoli with him, the pair of them have the mic and in-ring work to be great for TNA. Watch this space.........

I thought this thread was about who could TNA bring in to raise THEIR profile.
Talent from RoH, as good as they are, would have their own profile risen by going to a company with national TV. It would not raise TNA's profile in the slightest.
well, in that case i would rather them not bring in anyone, the last thing TNA needs is another WWE reject hogging airtime which could be used on the real workers, i.e. homicide, alex shelley and jimmy rave!
