View Poll Results: Will Mick Foley Help TNA Ratings?
A friend of Foley is quoted as saying, "Mick's body cannot handle a full time schedule, even in TNA. "But he's hell bent on doing everything he can to further his legacy and put them on the map. So Mick's plan is to wrestle select dates, like Sting currently does. He feels he will legitimately make a big difference in the way TNA Wrestling is perceived by the public!"
The hardcore icon has become frustrated with his role as a commentator on Smackdown and wants to leave Vince McMahon’s company when his contract expires on September 1.
And he is so determined to make an IMPACT for his new employers, that he’s even willing to get back in the ring.

I think it will help the rating only is he competes in crazy style matches and beats everyone up. Not too the point where he looks fantastic, but too the point where he is a reasonably good looking star. He will become a strong asset to TNA and WWE and Vince will be crying when Foley (If?) he goes to TNA. However deals are still being made, and we dont know. He did appear at one event that apparently was a tester. So Who knows? He seemed to like that event, maybe'll it happen more often!
as much as i love mick foley i dont see him doing much for the company , in my POV tna misuses their entire roster including big name wwe guys like kurt angle and booker t , and mick foley will be misused as well
Foley has shown over the last four years, he can still put on quality matches, when he wrestles. Many believe Foley is in his late 40s, since he hasn't been a full-time wrestler since 2000. But really Foley is only 43, he's the same age as HBK and Booker T, two years older then Jarrett, younger then Sting, Nash and Undertaker. He's also only a few years older then HHH, Angle and Batisa. The problem with Foley he has a body of a guy in his mid 50s, after all the bumps he has taken over the years. Not to mention Foley is in very good shape financially, and doesn't need to put his body through a full-time schedule.
But Foley still loves the business, and wants to make a difference. Thats why he will still put his body on the line here and there, and try to make the younger wrestlers stars. Foley wasn't used much in the last year and half in the WWE, because HHH and Vince felt his character has became stale and didn't connect with the fans the same way. None of that really made sense since Foley current book in 07 was selling pretty well, and he was still getting good pops. Plus it's hard for your character to stay fresh when everytime you wrestle someone, the fans don't believe you can win, because you have jobbed in all of them. Basically Vince and HHH were done with Foley and wanted to move on, and made up excuses IMO.
So Foley has felt like dead weight in WWE the last year and half, and wants to go to TNA to prove he can still make a difference. I know there wasn't much improvement in the ratings the last few weeks, but really Foley hasn't been given a chance to do much. Put him in a wrestling angle, and give him a month or two and the ratings will go up IMO. Of course Foley alone won't make a huge difference, but his effect on the wrestlers he feuds could. Lets not forget in 2000 after HHH retired Foley after 3 matches, it put HHH on the map as a legit main event star. Then in 2004 Foley put Orton on the map as a main event caliber wrestler, and Orton went on to win the title three months after their feud. So Foley long term effect is what he could do for the other guys. Plus TNA will allow Foley to use more of his ideas, and he won't have to go through all the BS like he did in WWE, which should help TNA alot. I just hope they decide to let Foley win some matches, so when the younger guys do beat him it means a little more. Thats were I think WWE went wrong over the years, you can't lose 3 to HHH to end your career, then come back and get pinned by Orton twice. Then lose to Edge, and Ric Flair twice in 06, and get pinned by John Cena in 07. If Foley could have pinned Orton in the tag match at WM, and maybe one of the matches against Flair, I don't think he comes off as stale. So hopefully TNA will be smarter with that and let him win a match here and there, and I think they will.
