Was i the only one who marked out for him coming back? I like Steiner & Petey but i was so happy to see Abyss destroy them. I like his new entrance music also.
I've got this filed in the "wait and see over the next few weeks" pile. Don't know if I like any of it yet, but let's see.

Re: TNA repeating the "Kane Mistake" with Abyss

THey should bring him back as a face who wants to help other fan favorites, but make him unstable where he can't be trusted and occasionally goes off on everyone. Eventually he puts himself into a position of he hates heels, and the faces have shunned him allowing him to fit into a REAL monster role. Maybe have him cost a face champion like Joe the belt after JOe turns his back on him after going crazy on him in a tag match...

At least it gave him new direction. Masked Kane had become one of the most stale gimmicks. Especially as it kept getting revealed that there were no "injuries." Before the unmasking Kane was randomly tagging with almost zero purpose. Afterwards so many doors opened when he went unmasked. Granted now that creative has failed on some parts it's harder to realize how god awful Kane's last months being masked were but meh. It's almost as bad as everyone who wants Psycho Mickie to come back. Another gimmick that had gone extremely stale by the time it was ending. But since her next gimmick was booked poorly no one ever remembers it.

Had Kane stayed Masked... lord help how stale he'd by now.

Demasking him gave a him a burst of life, but thats all it was, a burst. Soon after the novelt of "zomg kane with no mask" wore off he became as interesting as paint drying. Atleast wit the mask, they kept the one thing that would always garantee atleast some interest in him, mystery.

Removing Abyss's mask would also be terrible, but then again keeping him in the garbage hardcore shitfests that he was doing before he left was also bad for him, so who knows what he'll do.

You mean he became as interesting as he was with the mask. Again I'd have to say booking took and flopped when they unmasked Kane. Especially since there were about 439483943948 interesting storylines they could've used but never did.

Re: TNA repeating the "Kane Mistake" with Abyss

Kane was far more interesting with the Mask, do you not remember how over he was back in 2001 and 2002? I agree it's down to booking, thats why he got stale in the first place and thats why demasking him turned out to be terrible. It was a quick fix to stop him from being stale (which if the creative team had been smart he would have never been in the first place) but after his initial push they had nothing for him.
