Does this make any sense to anyone else here? I know that the heel champ with a face chasing usually delivers the better ratings and I don't know if there is a heel on the roster outside of Angle who is hurt that would be better suited to have the belt?

Not in my eyes. I think he can have the shots but not actually win it. A couple of months with this new attitude & if he doesnt win it then i see him going face again so he can feud with whoever wins the belt from Joe be it Kurt Angle or prefably a TNA made guy.

I think if you are planning on putting it on Booker as a face, it would almost make sense to put it on Bobby Roode and let them feud for the belt. If there was an upper mid card belt outside of the X Division title, I think that would be my feud for it at the moment.

I was thinkinga heel AJ. But since its looking more & more like he's going face soon, i'll have to agree with Roode. Problem being how do you get the belt onto him? KOTM would be a cheap way for him to win it & it would almost feel like it was an impule decision with no thought put into it.
If the belt is going on Roode then its a few months away but i'd have him win Fight for your Right tournament usually around October. The good thing about that is it gives Booker a chance to be heel for a few months & yet still be a full face by the time Roode wins the belt.

They REALLY need to develop these characters more. As of May 2008 there is simply too many guys jumping all over the place.
Like the WWE, they really need to set up a "ladder" effect where you aspire and crawl to the main event. The established guys should be on top and 1 or 2 younger guys a year squeezing into the scene.
With all that said, as I could go on forever about that.........Booker T.... Yes. I think he is ideal for a title run in TNA. I would give him a heel run actually. What he could do to cater to the fans that want the AJ's and Samoa Joe's in the title hunt is this....
Basically I would have Booker T cheat and use Sharmell to consistently get him to walk away with the title after any match. Use the old Eddie Guerrero "Lie, Cheat, Steal" gimmick. Booker is great at the comedy stuff, so having him cheat to win would make for some classic moments. This would also build tremendous value for his young competition as Booker seems to need to cheat to win his matches.
They would be able to make Booker look strong, just be kinda a scumbag about the way he gets his wins. Meanwhile it can draw up a frenzy for the faces to finally take out Booker.
I just feel TNA has the same problem that the WWE has but a much harser version of it. They dont think long term. They dont think........where do we want to be in 2 years?
That's why a TNA Booker title run as currently constituted would be a mess, but that doesn't mean he doesnt deserve it. You also have to give him props for going to TNA when it seems to have ruined his relationship with the WWE longterm.

Personally I don't even like Booker in TNA. I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I preferred him as King Booker. At least it was different. His ring entrance and music is still the same, his character is still the same, and he's lost a step or 2 in the ring. Not only does he not need to be World Champ, he doesn't need to be in the six sided ring.
Booker is a solid worker, but with all due respect to the guy...i see him more of a upper midcard guy like Jericho. If anything, I rate Jericho above Booker and overall makes a better champ. The only time Booker is good as champ was when he was King Booker
