Kurt Angle said the following in an interview with Mike McMahon in regards to his WWE exit:
"I wanted time to really heal my neck," said Angle. "I went to Vince McMahon, the head of WWE, and asked for the time off and he basically said, 'No.' That incident really made me look at my life. That year, I was on the road for 304 days, and my marriage was just falling apart, my wife had filed for divorce... I went back to Vince and asked to go part-time, like some of the older veterans had done. He said no to part-time, so I was fed up and told him I wanted to quit, and he got really mad, and I mean really mad, almost like he wanted to fight me. I took real offense to that. My life was falling apart, and I felt like they didn't care. My neck was in tough shape, and they wanted me to keep performing every night. I felt I deserved to at least go part-time, even though I really needed the time off."
Part-time wasent that unreasonable was it?

I agree. I think there should be something in place for veterans of the WWE so that they can work reduced schedules and help maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Veteran? At the time, he was working there for ...what...6 years? I'd hardly call that a veteran.
if that's the case, guys like Edge should be called veterans as well as he's been with the WWE longer.
Also, I take Kurt's story with a grain of salt as his recent interviews have made me To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Kurt was working for Vince for Seven years & suffered Five serious neck injuries. That alone is enough to warrent a part time schedual for a Main Eventer.
Part-time doesnt mean miss half of the year either, it means cutting down on house shows & needless appearances.

Everything Kurt says must be taken with a grain of salt as shown by his story with Randy Couture, where Randy recently came out and said he has no match planned with Angle they just discussed the possibility.
