If TNA are focusing more on ratings than on PPV buys, then they're going down the same road WCW went. Bischoff got so obsessed with the ratings war, that he was giving away PPV matches on free tv, just to try to bump that weeks ratings. TD's right. If Impact isn't encouraging people to part with their money, then it does the company no good.
This was one of my points and it was a simple one really, but I'm glad it was understood by the vast majority.

Re: TNA Impact sucks

IN response to TD, I was referring to both of you. Being on the outside looking in. Pure and simple you both have added gas onto the fire. I'll give quotes if needed, but I don't think I do and I think everyone can own up to it and get past it.

To respond to Crocker, I understand what he means, but the fact that they draw what they do after being a new born in the market in comparison is good. You can't expect them to come out swinging at the same levels. They do however increase their number little by little and are getting more exposure and time, which in turn will bring those numbers up. Just because it is newer you can't hold the %'s and numbers to the same level. It's just not accurate no matter how you swing it unless you are comparing to newer companies doing what they are. Especially when you figure in the TNA just got a 2 hour slot a few months ago and are still learning to get the right balance in on the shows to build better feuds and characters that in turn brings in more money.

As far as saying it sucks or fails, the fact that it generates any kind PPV money and merchandise sales suggest otherwise from the stand point you are looking at it. SO what the % is lower than WWE... still not much though and there is room to expand... especially with a rise in ratings, no matter the size. And basing that it sucks on this logic also means that RoH sucks? Because they don't have the national exposure and are on a regional show?

Anything outside of this is in the court of opinion and there won't be any changing of that as people who care this much about wrestling to be online are much more hard headed. Could it be better... yes. Will it become better, I think it will. Are they the only ones that need improvement... far from it. Do I personally think the quality of the show in general is better than its competition... From what I see and watch yes. (Can't comment on regional shows as I don't get to see them regularly) Will everyone agree .... No they won't. Am I fine with this... yeah I am, and it won't make me bad mouth someone elses views, as long as they have a reason for liking what they do. But I won't go out on a general note and state my opinion as fact. Which is what has happened here on both sides of the argument from different people. If it's an opinion present it as such.

They're focusing too much on entertainment rather then wrestling. I mean why would you have one of your 5 best wrestlers doing midcard comedic matches? it's poor planning imo, especially since daniels was already over.

Re: TNA Impact sucks

TNA has a rabid hardcore audience that will never change or go beyond 1.1/1.2 with the current product.

TNA make no money from their TV revenue due to the TV deal they have.

TNA Impact, as such, is an advert whereby the company then tries to make money from it's PPV's.

This fails as it fails to convert more than 1% to purchase the product and never has, and in it's current state, never will.

There is no momentum to change that in TNA because their management have their head in the sand as they are in the blissful utopia of currently being in possession of a money mark that covers all their losses. Let's hope she never grows bored.

If they did change their product, and gave it time, they would have a chance of becoming profitable because they are going to gain no new audience with this insult of a TV show. And that has been the way it is for over two years now.

As for Griff, God, Russo, whoever the hell else wants to put spin on figures or try and say "well I don't care, I like the show" good for you. Run along and make up a thread about how everything is rosy. But this show fails hard in what it is supposed to achieve and, as such, it sucks.

As for the repeated "well that's just your opinion....it's not fact".....of course it's my opinion fuckwits, do we all have to now put an addendum at the bottom of each of our posts and say "THIS IS MY OPINION" now?

And as for the figures I'm quoting....well yes....they are facts.

Going by your logic, ECW fails because it gets only 1% of viewers to buy PPV's. Raw fails cause it gets only 4% of viewers to buy & Smackdown fails because its somewhere in between those two?

Re: TNA Impact sucks

Once again the margin is so small in comparrison, that if that did mean that it would suck, it means they all do... and no matter how you look at it, it saying that something "sucks" is stating an opinion. The fact that it has over a million people on, and the fact that it isn't in the red means that it's accomplishing more than most would. There is room to grow of course but saying it sucks is completely opinion... no matter how YOU try to spend it.

Re: TNA Impact sucks

Even if they are in the red, it doesn't mean the show sucks. It doesn't change that it is a matter of opinion when you make that statement.

Re: TNA Impact sucks

I don't think that Tyler is trying to state that TNA iMPACT sucks from an aesthetic point of view.

I think what he's trying to say is that iMPACT's purpose is to improve buyrates for PPVs, which apparently they don't. And can be stated that iMPACT isn't doing what it's supposed to do, therefore "sucks"

That's how I understand it.

I'm just one Samoan though

Begging me for more.
