Transcript Of What Alex Shelly Said About Jeff Hardy

Credit: Monday Night Mayhem

In response to an earlier-issued Alex Shelley Monday Night Mayhem interview recap, John "The Big Mosh" Masiulionis has submitted the following statement:

For over four & a half years, "Your Home Of Wrestling Radio" has provided some of the best analysis, the best guests, & some of the most in-depth coverage of the professional wrestling & sports-entertainment landscape. I am proud to say that amongst all other shows out there available for download (on internet or broadcast radio), we have had the least problems with any promotion (World Wrestling Entertainment, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, Ring Of Honor, & all indy feds), or supplier of guests for our program, when it comes to unprofessional or lewd on or off-air conduct.

While being on the air as long as we have, we have never -- not once -- had a problem with interview recaps/transcripts. We strive to do our best to get those up as quickly as possible to our loyal fan base & the rest of the viewing internet public. Due to having full-time employment (like most people out there), having families, & the like, sometimes they do not always get up within 24 hours of the show -- sometimes even taking until the end of the week to have the opportunity to send them out to all news sites. In the realm that we deal with on a weekly basis & throughout all of the interviews that we have done & guests that we have spoken to, it is unfortunate that sometimes things do happen on our respective watches. Every once in a while, in essence, mistakes can occur.

On behalf of myself & my co-host, Eric "Blade" Haber, we wish to extend our sincerest apologies to Alex Shelley & Total Nonstop Action Wrestling for the errors found in our August 7th show interview recap.

Our interview recapper, Oliver Newman, who had worked previously for our show doing recaps beforehand (for two interviews) & who was brought back as our official show transcriber/recapper, paraphrased the overall synopsis of each of one Shelley's answers to the questions posted by myself & Blade, but added quotes around some of the paraphrased material -- except for the now famous Jeff Hardy quote. That is something in the world of journalism & at The Mayhem that we take straight to heart -- to get the message out in a correct fashion in a particular interview, and to use our airwaves as a public forum to address issues in the world of wrestling.

The exact statement from Alex in that part of the interview regarding Jeff Hardy was as follows, with regards to his takes on whether or not Jeff Hardy would be welcome back in the TNA locker room & (courtesy: August 7th Monday Night Mayhem):

"Well, as far as my interaction with Jeff goes, aside from watching him draw on his arms for hours before each show, and wrestling him once in 2004, where he proceeded to get green paint all over me, which was a pain in the ass to wash off, I might add that I really can count on one hand how many times I talked to the guy. As far as his career moves go, I'll be honest with you guys, I don't mean to shoot your question down, but I could care less. I have bigger things to worry about in my own life, you know -- just what I'm going to have for dinner concerns me more than what Jeff Hardy does in the WWE. You know I'm more concentrated on my job & my upcoming tour of Japan for Zero-One MAX than I am anything to do with Jeff Hardy. And as far as that guy goes down in Orlando (that dresses up like him), that's creepy, and I find a lot of Jeff Hardy fans are incredibly creepy. So, congratulations, but he probably has the most annoying fanbase in the world. That's it though, whatever he does is his business. You know like, that's his call -- he's his own man, I'm not gonna comment on his decision."

This simple correction & posting of the entire statement obviously sheds light into the main topic in the interview that was posted everywhere on the internet on Thursday afternoon.

Now, there is a very good chance, since all internet wrestling shows have audio/sound level problems every once in a while, the stream that our recapper was listening to could have cut out for a second or two, and that's what might have been heard in the long run. Be that as it may, this happened on our watch, and we are not using this as an apology for the end result. We take full responsibility for what happened, and it was NEVER intended to slander or cause malicious intent to Mr. Shelley or cause any rifts between himself & Jeff Hardy.

Alex had plenty of fun while doing this interview with Blade & myself, even joking around with the finding of the X-Division talent for Kevin Nash -- in preparation for his match against Chris Sabin live this Sunday night at Hard Justice.

The Big Mosh: "Was it Nicaragua, if I'm not mistaken?"

Alex: "No no, you are mistaken, because it was Madagascar."

We wish Alex nothing but the best of luck in his future with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, and in all of his future independent bookings as well.

We hope this above statement answers any questions that "those in the know" are now thinking about us & how we do things/operate our program -- which is not to "rip" people (talent, guests, or fans) apart. Our goal going forward from here is to continue to give your listening base & wrestling fans throughout the world the opportunity to take part in something that has been an undying passion & love for myself since February 2002 -- the opportunity to Feel The Mayhem.

The revised & corrected interview recap will be circulating in the coming hours as well -- depending on when you happen to read this statement. We thank everyone for their time in reading this, and all members of the IWC (internet wrestling community) for posting this accordingly & promptly.

Sincerely,
John Masiulionis ("The Big Mosh")

I can definitely see where Shelley is coming from saying that. Hardy was a breakout star who had it all, but threw it all away for drugs.
