This just goes to show that wrestling ability has very little to do with wrestling now. For the longest part of '07 TNA matches were better matches than WWE's. TNA could do very little with that. Now WWE has produced much better matches this year...I just don't think TNA is ever going to be a real threat to WWE. Not in the next 5 years anyway.
I would have to have an argument against WWE having better matches in the ring than TNA. (The following info in a summary that came from PWR show.com) If you look at the quarter averages in comparison of this year to last year WWE has lost a large number of viewers. TNA, though not by much, had gained.
I think that the wrestling industry in all is hurting right now, but I think that wrestling ability and not going to the over the top soap opera stories is what is helping to keep TNA fans hooked. There has been a small drop in the past couple of weeks, but the product is still solid and still offers in what my opinion is a better WRESTLING product.

This week’s edition of TNA iMPACT drew a 1.2 rating on Spike TV, up from their usual 1.1 rating. This was the company’s first broadcast in HD and featured the all-new redesigned Impact Zone in Orlando, Florida.
The highest rated segment featured the Mick Foley/Sting verbal exchange which popped a 1.22 rating. The lowest rated segment featured the Motor City Machine Guns vs. Tanahashi and Volador.
The main event match of Kurt Angle vs. Abyss which featured Scott Steiner’s return drew a 1.18 rating, meaning the show retained most of the audience that tuned in for Foley and Sting.

lmao.. ECW was on during the Presidential Election..man..
Look, I'll be honest.. I'm liking the current direction TNA has taken the whole Main event Mafia thing.. but lets be real here.. ECW was destined to be trounced this week.
Yes, even though I am a big fan of TNA, if it weren't for the Election thing, I think ECW would've got a higher rating. Although, TNA is going in the right direction with this Main Event Mafia storyline and finally the MCMG are getting the push they deserve.
