Impact begins with Tomko and Christian Cage discussing about Tomko match with Samoa Joe in the main event. age tells Tomko that if he can take out Joe, Tomko will get a NWA World Title shot
Before the show actually started, video was shot of a brawl between Kurt Angle and Scott Steiner that took place as the fans filed into the Impact Zone. We then fast forward to Jim Cornette's office, where Cornette tells Kurt Angle not to screw up his television program. Kurt responds by telling Cornette "You do what you have to do, and I'll do what I have to do."
Our opening contest is a six-man X-Division tag match, where X-Division Champion Chris Sabin, Austin Starr, and Alex Shelley take on Jerry Lynn, Senshi, and Jay Lethal. But before the match begins, Kevin Nash and Sonjay Dutt come to ringside to get Lethal to do his impression of Randy Savage one more time. The match starts as Lethal gets attacked while doing the impression, but Senshi, Lynn and Lethal quickly gain the advantage. During the match, Bob Backlund comes to the announcers desk and speaks his mind about the disrespect of everyone and Austin Starr in particular. Starr gives a brainbuster to Lethal and gets ready to go for the pin, but is distracted by Mr.Backlund. Senshi takes advantage and rolls up Starr for the win.
A video entitled "A day in the life of Eric Young" is shown as we see Showtime carrying Robert Roode and Ms. Brooks' luggage up to their room. There he is met with more chores, such as shining Roode's shoes and vacuuming. Eric says he is fed up and threatens to leave, but Robert Roode reminds him of his binding contract.
We see another cryptic message from Sting as he lay in a coffin. He says "Abyss, you will die at Destination X. The question is how will you choose to die? Don't choose the flesh eating maggots. Choose rebirth! The choice is yours Abyss." Jeremy Borash catches up with the monster Abyss after the video is aired. Abyss is staring at a picture of James Mitchell, when he snaps and attacks one of the boom stick operators.
Our next match is Scott Steiner against Chase Stevens, but before the match begins, Kurt Angle attacks Steiner from behind. It takes most of the locker room to pull Kurt away, but in the meantime Steiner makes quick work of Chase with an over the head belly to belly suplex from the top rope to gain the victory. Big Poppa Pump grabs the microphone and says that he embarrassed Angle and begins talking about Angle's wife again. Angle runs out like a man possessed and tries to attack Steiner again. Jim Cornette comes out and tells Kurt that the show does not revolve around him and that he can't attack Steiner whenever he wants. Angle doesn't like Cornette's words and puts him into an ankle lock. Security and other wrestlers pull him off, and Cornette bans Angle from the building.
Leticia was able to have an interview with Wildcat Chris Harris before Impact went on the air. Harris told Leticia that he now has 25% of his vision back in his eye, but the doctors are still not allowing him to wrestle. But one way or another he will get a piece of Cowboy James Storm.
Alex Shelley comes to the ring to unveil his best work yet. He calls it "Massacre in Neuva York". The video is a mugging of Brother Devon's trainer, Johnny Rodz by LAX. Brother Ray comes out to confront Shelley and asks him why he would hold the camera while LAX did something like that. Kevin Nash comes out to back up Shelley, but Ray says that the matter had nothing to do with him. In the meantime, LAX jumps Ray and Konnan tells Hernandez to get the tables. After a flapjack from Homicide, Hernandez throws Ray through a table with a devastating modified spinebuster.
Samoa Joe is in the back and he tells JB that all his suffering, pain, and sacrifice culminate at Destination X when he wins the NWA World Title. Just then the cameras turn to Abyss where the monster is choking out TNA photographer Lee South. Joe intervenes and tells Abyss "Are you going to be a puppet or finally accept what you are and the nature of the beast? Listen to Sting, and for once in your life, stand up for yourself!"
Our main event is next as Tomko takes on Samoa Joe. As Joe is really taking it to Tomko, Christian Cage is shown backstage getting frustrated and begins walking to the ring. Joe goes for a Musclebuster, but Tomko holds on to the referee. As the ref is distracted, Cage enters the ring and hits Joe with a steel chair. Tomko hits a huge clothesline and gets the three count. Cage and Tomko then try to double team Joe, but it backfires. Just as Joe locks in the Coquina Clutch on Cage, Steiner enters the ring and breaks it up. Abyss surprisingly comes to the ring and chases off Christian and his gang. Yet, just as Joe got to his feet, he was met with a Black Hole Slam as iMPACT! ended.
