Angle is healty now and so is cage so either can hold the belt. Joe will get the title but not until he's fully healed.

To be honest, i'd of prefered the title not to have been on the line in this match and them kept it on Abyss for a while longer and had the Sting vs Abyss feud with the title included.

They didnt want Cage to beat Sting for the title so pass it to someone else first. That way we get Cage/Angle and Sting/Abyss, and in the future we still have Cage/Sting to look forward to.

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Re: Against All Odds - Sunday, February 11, 2007 Here are the results (the Serotonin members were Kazarian and Johnny Devine, since TNA doesn't say. Kazarian pinned Lethal after Maverick Matt superkicked him): Welcome to live, updated coverage from Sunday’s “Against All Odds” Pay-Per-View event! The TNA Countdown preshow kicked off with Leticia welcoming Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe as they arrived at the arena – together! Angle wasn’t in the mood to talk, but Joe told Leticia that he and Kurt came to an understanding that if Angle wins tonight, he will give Joe the first shot at the gold at the next TNA Pay-Per-View, Destination X! Backstage, Christy Hemme met with TNA management director Jim Cornette, who informed the TNA Knockout she would be competing in a Tuxedo Match tonight! In the Countdown Preshow bout, it was Raven’s group of Serotonin getting their first TNA win over Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal. Despite the win, Raven still punished his followers with a kendo stick! Backstage, Jeremy Borash found out that Paparazzi Productions would be having a viewing party tonight, airing footage of Ms. Brooks and Eric Young at the hotel! Also backstage, Jeremy Borash interviewed James Mitchell, manager of Abyss, who promised Sting that tonight would indeed be the end of one of them in TNA Wrestling. Also on the Countdown preshow, footage aired of Scott Steiner arriving to the arena with Tomko. Apparently, Steiner and Tomko aren’t getting along, as “Big Poppa Pump” demanded Tomko carry his bag, while Cage’s backup simply walked off! COVERAGE OF THE LIVE “AGAINST ALL ODDS” PAY-PER-VIEW The “Little Italy Street Fight” between NWA World Tag Team Champions The Latin American Xchange and Team 3D kicked off the broadcast! It was bloody and violent, with both teams using a pizza cutter and a cheese grater on each other! During the bout, members of the LAX’s “Latino Nation” hit the ring and attacked Team 3D, but Brother Ray and Devon fought them off! Later, Brother Ray was knocked out when he was put through a table, leaving Brother Devon alone against Homicide and Hernandez. Following more interference by the Latino Nation members, Hernandez was able to hit the Border Toss on Devon for the win as LAX claimed the victory. Backstage, Jeremy Borash interviewed Austin Starr, who spoke out about his upcoming match against Senshi. Mr. Backlund was on hand throughout the interview and had a stare-down with Borash to end it. Up next was Austin Starr against Senshi, which saw a controversial ending as both competitors’ shoulders were down during the three-count, but Senshi lifted his at the last second. Senshi was awarded the win, after which Austin Starr blew a gasket after the bout and threw several steel chairs into the ring. However, Starr made the mistake of slapping Mr. Backlund, who applied the Cross Face Chicken Wing to the X Division competitors. Backstage in World Champion Christian Cage’s locker room, Tomko and Scott Steiner weren’t getting along. Steiner warned Cage to get Tomko in line and walked off. Cage told Tomko to find Steiner to fix the situation before the main event. Up next, it was time for TNA Knockout Christy Hemme to make her TNA in-ring debut in a Tuxedo Match. However, it was revealed her opponent was none other than the Big Fat Oily Guy! Hemme eventually got the win over BFOG, but Kip James of the Voodoo Kin Mafia hit the ring to continue to embarrass Hemme. As a final insult, James ripped of the final piece of Hemme’s tuxedo – resulting in Hemme leaving the ring defiant after her win. Backstage, the first part of the Paparazzi Productions viewing party was held, with Ms. Brooks getting ready in a hotel room with a contract laying on the bed for Robert Roode, Inc! Up next, it was the Basebrawl 2 match with Dale Torborg (accompanied by AJ Pierzynski) taking on Lance Hoyt (accompanied by David Eckstein). Pierzynski interfered in the bout multiple times, eventually hitting Hoyt with a steel chair for Torborg to get the win. However, TNA referee Andrew Thomas saw it and called for the match to resume. David Eckstein hit the ring and nailed Torborg with the chair, leading to Hoyt finally getting the victory. In the back, part 2 of the Paparazzi viewing party was held – this time with Eric Young arriving to the hotel room to meet Ms. Brooks! Eric arrived with roses and a box of half-eaten chocolates. Part 2 ended with Ms. Brooks ripping off Eric’s shirt as she attempted to get him to sign the contract with Robert Roode, Inc! Up next, it was the Motor City Chain Match with “The War Machine” rhino and AJ Styles connected by a 15-foot steel chain! A key to the handcuffs that connected Rhino and Styles hung from one pole, with a nightstick as a weapon hanging on another pole. Rhino was the first to get the nightstick, but he was unable to use it as Styles hit his foe with a low blow. Styles then gained possession of the weapon and used it on Rhino. With Rhino down, Styles went for the key and unlocked his handcuffs, freeing him from the chain. Styles then handcuffed Rhino to the ropes and taunted him with the key, but the “War Machine” was able to hit a Gore on his nemesis! With AJ down, Rhino attempted to get the key, but couldn’t reach it. However, referee Earl Hebner nonchalantly kicked it in his direction, allowing Rhino to free himself! Rhino set up a table and went for another Gore, but Styles moved at the last minute, sending Rhino crashing through it – allowing AJ to get the pin and victory! Backstage, it was part 3 of the Paparazzi viewing party. Eric was still hesitant about signing until Ms. Brooks stripped down to lingerie! Young quickly signed it, but when Ms. Brooks led him to the bed and told him to close his eyes, she took off out of the room! Robert Roode was waiting outside for Brooks to deliver the signed contract to him! As the Paparazzi Productions group finished watching the video of Eric Young and Ms. Brooks, Mr. Backlund busted in and starting yelling about their morals for watching such filth! Back in the ring, it was time for the X Championship match between Chris Sabin and Jerry Lynn! After stalling early on and ducking out of the ring, Sabin got inside the mind of Lynn and gained the early advantage. The X pioneer fought back and attempted to hit his Cradle Piledriver finisher, but was unable to lift Sabin due to the punishment his back suffered during the match. As Lynn fell to the mat, Sabin used the ring ropes as leverage to get the win and retain the gold! Robert Roode came out next and was gloating about Ms. Brooks accomplishing her mission of getting Eric Young to sign with Robert Roode, Inc. Roode brought out Young and said the fan favorite is now his property! According to Roode, “I own you. I own everything you say, I own everything you do and I own everything you think!” According to Roode, if Young doesn’t obey his every command, he will make sure he never competes in wrestling again! Backstage, Jeremy Borash was once again with World Champion Christian Cage. TNA management director Jim Cornette busted in, telling Cage that if either Tomko or Steiner effected the outcome of the match, the World Champion would be disqualified and lose the championship! Up next, it was the mixed tag team match as James Storm and Jackie Moore faced Petey Williams and Gail Kim. Storm ended up costing Gail Kim the bout when he collided with her, leading to Jackie Moore getting the three-count on her counterpart. After the bout, Storm and Moore attempted to use the beer bottle on their opponents and hit Petey Williams with the Death Sentence, but “Wildcat” Chris Harris made his surprise return to TNA Wrestling and chased Storm and Moore from the ring! Backstage, Jeremy Borash interviewed Sting, who was preparing for his Prison Yard bout against Abyss! Sting promised that he would silence the voice of James Mitchell forever in TNA Wrestling. It’s time for Sting and Abyss to clash! Up next, it was the violent and chaotic Prison Yard match, which saw Sting and Abyss fight all over the arena in the war. The object was to lock your opponent in the cage to win. It was truly a barbaric bout, as Sting hit Abyss with a powerbomb through a table covered in barbed wire! Sting eventually trapped Abyss in the steel cage to earn the victory, but it was James Mitchell who paid the ultimate price! Following the bout, Sting brutally beat a bloodied Mitchell, exacting his revenge on the manager while Abyss looked on locked in the cage, unable to help. Backstage, Jeremy Borash interviewed Kurt Angle, who talked about his plan to defeat Christian Cage for the NWA World Heavyweight Title! In the main event for the NWA World Heavyweight Title, it was Christian Cage vs. Kurt Angle! Tomko was forced to leave the ringside area prior to the bell by TNA security. In the opening minutes of the bout, Samoa Joe’s music hit, leading to the arrival of the unofficial enforcer! Angle took the early advantage, turning back every attack by Cage until the Olympic gold medalist missed a shoulder tackle and went head first into the steel ring post. Angle battled back, trapping Cage in the Ankle Lock, but the champion reached the ropes to break the hold, hit a low blow and hit the Unprettier – but Angle kicked out! Later, Angle hit an amazing seven suplexes on Cage, at which point AJ Styles hit the ring to distract Angle! Joe chased Styles out of the arena, allowing Cage to hit Angle with a chair! Referee Andrew Thomas got knocked out, leading to Tomko hitting the ring – but Angle nailed him with suplexes as well! Out next was Scott Steiner, who was taken out of the picture by Joe after a dive from the ring! Joe single-handedly battled Steiner and Tomko while Cage and Angle battled inside the ring. Angle locked Cage in the Ankle Lock again, but Cage smashed his foe with Steiner’s steel pipe! Cage woke up referee Andrew Thomas, nailed the Unprettier and got the three-count over Angle to retain the gold! Cage, Tomko and Steiner celebrated as the event ended! QUICK PPV RESULTS: - Preshow: Serotonin defeated Sonjay Dutt & Jay Lethal - The Latin American Xchange defeated Team 3D in a “Little Italy Street Fight” - Senshi defeated Austin Starr - Christy Hemme defeated “Big Fat Oily Guy” - Lance Hoyt defeated Dale Torborg in the Basebrawl 2 match - James Storm and Jackie Moore beat Petey Williams and Gail Kim - Prison Yard Match: Sting defeated Abyss - World Title Match: Christian Cage retained over Kurt Angle |
