Would you like to see Christian beat Jarrett for the title sooner rather than later? Would it be good for TNA to put the title on Christian soon after arriving?
There are pros and cons to this obviously. Let's take a look.
Pros:
I pretty much sticks it to Vince and shows that TNA believes in Christian more than Vinnie Mac ever did.
The casual WWE fan would instantly be at least semi interested in seeing how the hell Christian won the title. It would most likely contribute to ratings going up at least short term.
It keeps his heat going and puts the focus on a new superstar and potentially opens the door for other WWE superstars to think long and hard about jumping ship.
Finally, Jeff Jarrett wouldnt have the title anymore. :green:
Cons:
Its like waking up a virgin and going to bed later that night after having sex with Halle Barry and Charlize Theron at the same time. There is just no where else to go but down. TNA would be wise to build up his heat slowly. Keep in mind, some people may actually not even know who he is.
The guys backstage would most likely not appreciate the title jumping right on Christian when they havent had a run themselves.
All in all, I would say its NOT a good idea to put the title on Christian. Remember when Jericho FINALLY beat Rock and Austin to become the Undisputed champ? I would like to see something similar with Cage.
Your turn.

No, not for a while yet.
Simply put TNA need to create their own identity and the same reason Jarrett is an unsuitable champion (the fact that he was only ever a WWE mid carder) is the exact same reason why Christian shouldn't be, at least until he is no longer thought of as a WWE guy.
It does nothing for the promotion and makes them look minor league to have a WWE mid carder carrying their belt, for this reason the belt has to go to the Alpha Male, Abyss or Samoa Joe.

It's just Christian! lol I am sorry but no one gave a poop whe Rhino was champ. He was and IS on the same level, except he has no mic skills. If you look at the in-ring talent TNA has there, to me Christian is still a mid-carder there just like he was in WWE.

They need to be patient with his push to the top of TNA, but it'll happen eventually. I like that they put him in a program with Monty Brown to kick things off - it makes the title that much more important b/c the top guys who have been vying for it for the last year aren't conceding to CC just because he's the new guy. I, obviously, want to see him get the belt, but not until this time next year.

I agree, there are plenty of No. 1 Contenders in there at the moment and it would be better for Christian to establish himself as a wrestler who can 1. carry a good match and 2. win consistantly. Then you can book JJ trying to make sure he doesnt get to a title shot. You could run the story over a good 5-6 month period and when the final pay-off match arrives people will auctually be talking about it.
Christian could have programs with Monty Brown, Lance Hoyt, Rhino, Raven and Samoa Joe before he even thinks about carrying the strap.
If TNA put the title on Christian too soon it will make them look weak as Christian has only just come from a midcard position regardless of it being in another promotion.
He will carry the title but give it until October next year after he has had a chance to find his feet, establish his character and show what he can do.
What if the reason Christian chose to go to TNA for the time being, was because he knew he could be champ there, as to his current stand with wwe, just kinda hanging around, not really doing anything.
So he decides to go over to TNA for about a year or two, be champ, then later come back to WWE and now being a former NWA champion, he will get pushed and be a main eventer.
Maybe he actually thought about that...

Problem Solver, what about Rhino? He was even lower on the card than Christian Cage was and he quickly won the belt, and yes I remember that Rhino won the ECW Title.
However, even though I believe eventually he will win the NWA Title I think it is too early to crown him champion but his match against Monty Brown at Turning Point will show that he is capable of being champ. They need to have him feud with some other superstars after Brown though, competing against Jeff Hardy(assuming Hardy can stay clean the day of the shows) could produce some great matches.

Whilst that is mostly true TJ you also have to factor in that Rhino's not being established at all in WWEland, i.e taking out his initial few months he was either injured or barely even a mid carder on heat, actually worked to his advantage. For Christian he was recognised mid card WWE talent, whereas for Rhino I'm certain a lot of non-marks were unaware he was even there for the last couple of years.
Also the Rhino world title win is a bit tenuous, they put the belt on him purely because it's what wrestling companies tend to do when their main event is buggered up (Nash being taken ill the day of the event) at a PPV. They took it off him again within about 24 hours. It was just done to give a feel good factor to what was meant to be a big PPV for the group.
