TNA has confirmed that due to better than expected ratings on Saturday nights for Impact!, Spike TV will be airing a two-hour TNA primetime special on Thursday, November 3 starting at 9PM ET. It's expected that the show will not be an extended version of Impact!, but rather its own unique show similar to the WWE "Saturday Night's Main Event" and WCW "Clash of the Champions" concepts.

This is another step forward for TNA. With two hours, they could put some really good matches on this card. Samoa Joe vs. A.J. Styles wouldn't be a bad idea, IMO.
I think they may be testing too see how well TNA would do with a primetime slot. I hope they have some longer matches and use this to feature more of their talent, Samoa Joe Vs. AJ Styles would be a great match to see on TV.

Most people that watch Raw on a regular basis will tune in (if they remember, thats the key)
I really hope this fed can take off. Wrestling needs it so badly.

In case anybody is wondering, yes I will be hosting a live thread for this special just like I do for iMPACT every week.

but w/ the word special, this means it's a one time only thing right? I hope it becomes a regular thursday night show.
Yep. But, this isn't a bad thing. I remember back when WCW had those Clash of the Champions shows and they were PPV quality and helped get a lot of people interested in WCW in the late 80's. They used to run one of the Clashes on the same day as WrestleMania. The Sting-Flair match ran against WM 4 and blew anything on that show out of the water. Flair-Steamboat went up against WM 5 and did very well.
If the ratings are really good and Impact's ratings continue to stay the same or rise a bit more, I could def. see Spike giving TNA a primetime weekly spot.
