What do you think some of the immediate and long-term effect of a 2 hour TNA time slot will bring to not only the company, but to the overall wrestling community?
Immediate:
I think the first and for most thing is that we will have better storyline development. I think TNA has some great storyline and the potential (Shelly Cam, Sting, honor in the X-dvision, etc) is endless, there just needs to be more time to develope them. Not to the WWE extenet where it overtakes the majority of the show, but a happy medium.
Also we will see a possible women's division which would be good as long as they use talent over beauty. There are some killer female wrestlers on the market, and a large # are also easy on the eyes as well... If handled correctly this would be great.
New titles: can anyone say X-Division tag titles? Or how about an NWA North American or even a NWA Canadian championship that can be held by someone just under the #1 conteders spot and a title that can be defending almost weekly on Impact. This also will give TNA a better chance to develope some up and coming talent and will be a GREAT way to develope talent from within the company that can prove that they will do well in a MAJOR title push.
Ratings will also come up and will continue to grow as TNA is like a wildfire and you are easily consumed by it.
Long term:
More house shows throughout the country. With the revenue that this would help generate (ticket sales, merchandise, etc.) TNA could finally start traveling and could take their product to the masses. Could you imagine somewhere the size of the Satples center filled with TNA fans? All chanting TNA TNA TNA???
Another show: This could be great as well as long as it is not a brand split. If they handle it similar to the WCW Nitro / WCW Thunder set up. Maybe one featuring more of the X division and one the HVYW... but both included in each show... this will also help in developing storylines.
Competition will also brgin wrestling back to the glory days where one company would push the other into being bale to put out a quality product continually, making us hunger for more and more rather than just satisfying us with the same mundane feuds and stories we are growing acustomed to...
And I know there are MANY more things that would happen based on this, but what are yout thought on agreement / disagreements and what would you add as an effect of the time change both on the long term and short term basis.
