I likely won't watch any of the shows live, as it's on at 9 p.m. my time (11 eastern) Saturday night and I'm usually never home (either working or out with the wifey).
But, I will be setting my VCR each week and taping it. I thought the Sacrifice PPV was awesome (got the replay) and when TNA was on FSN, I watched it just about every week and thought it wasn't half-bad.
IMO, TNA still has a long ways to go to being competitive with WWE, but I think they have some great young talent and their workrate is in many cases far superior than WWE's. The only question, how long can TNA afford to stay on Spike? Unfortunately they are currently having to pay for their spot on the schedule (they also paid to be on FSN). TNA has to hope the TV exposure will generate more PPV buys. They also need to think about running some house shows; maybe not out-of-state but they could go back to Nashville every now and then and they could book some shows in Tampa and some other Florida cities as a way to generate more revenue.
If Panda Energy doesn't start to see an upswing in business (increase in revenue and good TV ratings which could lead to Spike offering to pay to keep TNA on its station and giving the show a better time slot), it's likely that they'll eventually drop TNA.
This is likely a last resort for the promotion. I sincerely hope that TNA finds some success and is able to grow into a true rival for WWE.
If I'm ever home I'll watch it. I could always set my VCR I suppose. I like the direction TNA has been headed in over the last few months. Getting rid of the old hasbeens and bringing in younger, more athletic people...That's the smart move.
However, I read if TNA doesn't do well in ratings over the first 13 weeks than it could be gone from Spike. Not sure if there is truth to that. Spike are idiots, what the fuck else are they gonna show anyway?
Probably crap like Blind Date or Maximum Exposure.
I will be watching it, especially since there is nothing else on at 11PM. I think they will do a lot better on Spike TV since they are actually advertising TNA and more people watch Spike TV than FSN.

They can always show Roadhouse!
Seriously, though, I saw the same thing, Blitz. I'd imagine if they can do something close to what Velocity did, than Spike would be fine with that, considering TNA is nowhere near as big as WWE.
IMO having a TV deal is great but TNA needs to try to expand its fan base by doing more live shows in different markets. I know it costs money to travel and such, but they could book a few house shows in Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Jacksonville, Tallahasse and that would help keep the cost down as each city is only a couple of hours away from Orlando (driveable distance). Once they build up a nice fan base in Fla. they could slowly expand into Georgia and slowly work their way around.
To me, that's how you've got to grow your fans. It's how ECW did things and it worked for them. Obviously ECW didn't do other things right, but they were very smart in how they grew their fan base. If you remember, they only had a 1-hour syndicated TV show that didn't air until midnight or later on Sat. night and even with that terrible time ECW managed to grow. TNA would be wise to follow some of ECW's footsteps and avoid some of the missteps the company made.
I'll be watching it without a doubt, i cant wait for it to start up. I've already been watchin the show on the internet every week. I think TNA could one day go up against Raw, I think it'd be great. Right now I actually think TNA is already better in a lot of ways then WWE, some of the ideas out of TNA are a little corny and lame but hell at least its not the same stupid storylines over and over again. I really liked the idea of the Tag tournment they just did teaming the older expierenced guys with the younger guys, i thought that was a cool idea. Its better then what WWE is doing with their tag division... which is.. nothing. Also with WWE losing some of its shows and possibly having to cut a bunch more guys thats just more wrestlers for TNA to pick up, I wont be surprised if by this time next year Smackdown is gone and Raw and maybe a weekend show are all thats left in WWE which would mean a lot of guys get let go, which would be great for TNA. I really hope TNA makes it because if they can compete with WWE hopefully it'll also make WWE fun to watch again... hopefully.
