What happened when TNA went off the air, plus general notes

by Mike Johnson @ 11:11:00 AM on 5/16/2005

After Lockdown went off the air, AJ Styles celebrated while Monty Brown helped Jeff Jarrett to the back.

In a correction from my PPV report last night, TNA announced at the very last minute of their pre-game show that Sean Waltman would be replacing Jeff Hardy on the PPV. As it was explained to me, they waited so long to make the announcement because they were hopeful Hardy would arrive, as he missed several flights. Hardy is known as something of a space cadet when it comes to arriving on time, although he had been turning over a new leaf in that regard in recent months. Hardy did arrive after the PPV, which I'm hoping means he won't be late for TV on Tuesday.

The word going around on Shane Douglas was that he was ill, which is why Terry Taylor filled in for backstage interviews last night, doing a really good job.

A few readers sent word that a pre-taped Hard Justice rundown that ran on Direct TV was hosted by Jeremy Borash and Chris Candido. That tape really should have been pulled if TNA was able to do that, and I'm guessing it was an oversight as TNA has tried very hard to treat Candido with dignity after his death. I do know one reader was so upset after seeing it, he opted not to order the PPV.

While I think deciding not to order the PPV was overeacting I can understand why that fan was upset.

Visit and shop for video games at my Amazon-based store, also get discounted HD DVDs while they last.
