He can be entertaining in promos and vignettes but in the ring he really doesn't stand out at all. Heck I'm still puzzled on how he got a run the X-Division belt when he could barely keep up with those guys. The heel turn and persona overhaul was necessary to gain some drawing power (because like Cornette has said: funny doesn't equal money), but I still have a hard time buying that he could be leading a stable and winning "major" titles.
The thing is you can only push so many people at once. People being elevated need air time, wins, and story and character development. TNA are pushing Hernadez, Matt Morgen and Lashley. Four seems to many at one time to me, but saying that he has done well in his knew role.
The problem really is that EY isnt a main event/ top guy. He's a mid card, slot in to match A, mini/minor program worker. Hes a goodish wrestler, a little below average on the mik, and doesnt have the stengths the other pushies have. Not everyone is top guy material, but as long as he is kept out of that I think its okay.
On the flip side a lot of people will be calling for his push, since he's been around for ages and was so popular in his baby face role. Personally I dont particuly like him, or think he's anything special, but many people do.
So yeah... a bit on the fence, but a no from me. I also think get rid of the asian guy with the worlds shitest moonsault, only rivaled by Matt Hardies.

While that is true, Young has one thing that's very different than those other three - he's a heel. It doesn't really matter how many people are fighting for that next big spot, there's always room for the next big face and the next big heel. Take for example, The Rock and Triple H. For the most part, they were always at the same spot in their career. (Triple H would get behind, but that was only due to injuries). Now, because they were almost never the same alignment, one guy's push was never detrimental to the other. They were two completely different pushes since it was two different spots they were going for.
However, unlike those three guys, I can't see Eric Young being in the spot where he could be pushed to the main event at any given time. Instead, I see him in the Randy Savage like push. He's going to hopefully take his time in the midcard scene and being the top guy in there before moving up. To do that effectively, it could be a good year before Young's done and ready for something bigger.
When/if that does happen, I'll be excited for it. Young is so talented, but he just hasn't received the push to showcase that. As over as goofy paranoid 'Don't Fire Eric' Young was, it was very limiting and it went on for a long time. That gimmick started in the summer of 2006 and just ended earlier this year (Correct me if I'm wrong people). EY replacing Scott Hall at Turning Point 2007 was the perfect showcase to prove that he could be a top guy. Personally, I think he did great and showed a lot of promise. However, instead of capitalizing on it, they made him be the goof character again.
If I was starting a new company and I could grab anyone from TNA, EY would easily be one of the firsts (Maybe even top 3). I really hope this is the beginning of a major push for Eric. He sure as hell deserves it.

I've always been a fan of EY's ring work, problem was he was stuck in some of the worse character gimmicks ever and it held him back. The serious, heel, stable leader fits him well, and he's really excelled with the chance he's been given. Don't really see him ever being a main event guy, but he has the potential to be a solid mid card guy for them.

Re: The Eric Young Push- Yay Or Nay
I always always always love a heel - except this time. EY is one guy that I actually liked better as a face. I still enjoy his character, don't get me wrong. I just really preferred the slightly stupid frightened goof that EY portrayed so well.
But I'm still happy to see him get a push. I just wish he hadn't shaved his pretty blond hair.
