Re: TNA Turning Point 2009 Preview and Live Discussion

Stupid main event. The original was one of the only ''classic'' matches to happen in TNA, now they're going to do it with lesser effect and intrest? It should be a perfectly fine match, but in comparison to the original it'll just highlight how poor Joe has become and how little Daniels has progressed in 4 years.

I wonder which Gun Magnus will break with his clumsiness gimmick.

That, plus it doesn't make any sense for both Daniels and Joe to suddenly get title shots with no build. Daniels lost in the X Division opener and Joe lost to Lashley at Bound For Glory. Seems so random.

That, combined with Nigel's immediate push and the Guns being on PPV wrestling for the tag titles randomly makes me think that TNA are just trying to please the internet with this one.

Re: TNA Turning Point 2009 Preview and Live Discussion

Well, if you think about it, that is how TNA got popular. It was with pleasing Internet fans with indy stars and exciting wrestlers. Four years ago at Unbreakable, fans marked at the announcement that three exciting guys at the time would hook up on national television. And around that time, they asking fans if they should bring in guys like Aries and Strong, and they did, and they got a wider audience thanks to Indy fans latching on and the triple threat being a success.

They've lost that appeal, and I know they want to impove and get that appeal back. As random as it is, it is somewhat of a good move. I mean, I know I'm not the only one exciited about the Guns getting a title shot and Nigel facing Angle. It must be somewhat working

Re: TNA Turning Point 2009 Preview and Live Discussion

If they want to progress as a company and challenge WWE, then catering to a few internet marks certainly isn't the way to go about it.

But if the fans are latching onto someone, would you sign them?

Just ask the WWE. They did sign Danielson.

Re: TNA Turning Point 2009 Preview and Live Discussion

Of course I would. I'm not criticising signing popular indy stars, I'm criticising what appears to me to be booking a PPV solely to please internet fans, whether it makes sense or not.

Re: TNA Turning Point 2009 Preview and Live Discussion

I'm actully looking forward to this because for once there's no WWE people in the Main Event and no Sting. And the Tag Team match looks to be good.

Re: TNA Turning Point 2009 Preview and Live Discussion

This just doesn't make sense. Daniels and Joe both loss their matches at BFG yet their main eventing the following PPV? What kind of a message is that?

I was expecting it to be Angle/Styles but it looks like he'll be facing Wolfe.

Don't know what to make of it. Hopefully it'll be a good show however.

Re: TNA Turning Point 2009 Preview and Live Discussion

Lot of questions still to be answered.

What is Sting going to do after losing to AJ and not retiring?
What is Morgan going to do after losing to Angle only to have the feud inexplicably end?
What is Hogan going to do, if anything?
