That, combined with Nigel's immediate push and the Guns being on PPV wrestling for the tag titles randomly makes me think that TNA are just trying to please the internet with this one.
The funny thing is I want to see both matches. Typically, I could care less about any TNA PPV match, yet the first two announced, I'm interested in seeing. So it seems as if they're doing something right.
As for why Joe and Daniels deserves a title shot, Joe makes some sense. He did turn on AJ Styles and the Frontline when he joined the MEM. Has Styles ever gotten back at him for that? As for Daniels, they're at least teasing the break up. So that's something, albeit not the best of reasons.
Looking at the roster, what other options did they have? Kurt Angle is busy with Desmond Wolfe, Lashley and Scott Steiner are feuding, Booker T's gone, it looks like Mick Foley and Abyss are going to be in some sort of respect angle against Dr. Stevie and Hernandez is in a feud with Rhino. So there isn't many options. So they rely on past success and history to warrant this match.
If Hogan is going to wrestle for TNA (Which I can't see him not), I would hold off for a bit. Hype his first match for a couple of months. Try to make sure every single wrestling fan knows that Hogan's having his first PPV match since 2006 (Orton was his final PPV match, right?). As long as he's booked against someone interesting, it could be a great way to boost up the buyrate. I would maybe aim for the January PPV.

This is looking to be one of the better TNA shows they've put on recently. There appears to be a refreshing lack of gimmick matches and a lot of it feels fresh.
Looking forward to Lashley vs. Steiner.

Re: TNA Turning Point 2009 Preview and Live Discussion
The card so far looks really good, with at least one more match added next week on Impact. Wolfe/Angle should easily be match of the night, they'll give it time and both guy should deliver.
I'm excited for the main event, because there going to revisit one of the greatest TNA matches ever, but I'm not going to get my hopes up that it's going to be up to the level of the past match. It will be good, but it's hard to duplicate what they had in 05, with the 3 guys feuding for months and having a series of matches back then, to this which is thrown together.
Kong/Tara has had a ton of build over the last 2 months, and should be the west KO match in a long time. Plus MCMG are finally getting there title shots, and it's a fresh feud with 2 teams that haven't really faced eachother. I still think there going to get the titles, just not at Turning Point, most likely in a rematch at the next PPV.

This pay per view can be the launch for Desmond Wolfe, I guess I can say that this is a real make or break match for Desmond. TNA put this guy up against the best and lets see if the build can live up to the match. This guy can do some great things in TNA and it starts at Turning Point

I think the Desmond Wolfe/Attacker of AJ/Rhino/Team 3D thing will lead to a Jeff Jarrett return with Jarrett upset how Dixie has pushed him out. Hogan will come to Dixie's side and Jarrett/Hogan will battle for control of TNA.

Matt Morgan was in the biggest match of his career last month, now he's in filler.
I wouldn't call it a filler match. It's got some decent build. My only concern is Team 3D/Rhino going over.
I have a feeling the Wolfe/Angle match won't be as good as we expect, just so they can do a better rematch or something. Either way, it should be pretty good and it'll do wonders for Wolfe, regardless of who goes over.
Good to see MCMG will be back in action.
Main event looks good. Wow, 4 years really does go fast. I'm not expecting a classic like their last, but they should at least put on a good show.
