In the last year we've seen a few factions/stables in TNA, The British Invasion, World Elite, Main Event Mafia, Front Line, The Beautiful People, Kongtourage, etc.
Do you think TNA do too many stables/factions? Do you enjoy them?
I personally love groups and with a roster as big as theirs, I think it works. The only thing is the factions need to make sense and be important. The Front Line failing like they did was awful.

My main issue with TNA is most of their stables are underwhelming.
Frontline was suppose to be the counter part to MEM. The issue is, for the most part the Mafia has been Booker/Steiner/Nash/Angle and either Sting or Joe depending on the time line. It has been a solid group, and if you ask a regular TNA viewer who is in it it they would know.
Frontline had something like 7 or 8 members initially, and the line up was constantly changing. It got to a point where three of the primary deterrers of the Mafia were Foley, Jarret, and Daniels....all guys around their 40s. It was contradicting to the premise that the younger generation has no respect and that the Mafia was going to hold onto their spots with a death grip against YOUNGER arguably more talented guys.
Logically from a storytelling point of view you'd assume that the first big pay off to the Mafia/Frontline war would have been Sting who ushered in the era of the Mafia with his promos regarding the younger wrestlers lack of respect losing his title to one of these younger guys and allowing them to get the one up on the Mafia. Instead, Sting lost his title to an aging and embarrassing Mick Foley. Effectively spitting in the face of any fan who got emotionally invested in Frontline's journey.
In long, that is why Frontline is a horrible stable.
The World Elite stable is a joke. The only person in that stable remotely close to being a top talent is Davari. Forgive me for not being able to get behind a stable led by Super Eric doing his best Chris Jericho impersonation.
The Beautiful People was a phenomenal female stable. Losing Angel Williams put the nails in the tomb of this stable. TNA would have been better of pushing the other broad solo until this Angle Williams fiasco is sorted out. The Beautiful People had slight name value amongst TNA's core audience, and by adding in all these half wits who cannot live up to Angel William's part she played in the stable they are only raping it's marketability if she ever returned.
TNA is far too bloated for the sake of being bloated. It's hard to watch.

:o She has a name, thank you! lol
No, but I agree with that point. I think if the "core" of TBP is no longer there, they should've split them up for good. Or, instead of bringing Lacey Von Erich to replace Angelina... move Velvet into the "lead role" and have Lacey take the former role that Madison had, as the lackey.
I'm a relatively newcomer to TNA. And, in my opinion, I think the World Elite could be turned into something good. I just can't stand EY's voice. It sounds like he should clear his throat about a dozen times during his promos. And, the whole thing between MEM has led up to essentially a heel-heel feud.
The "Frontline" should've never happend in my opinion.
But, with the talent TNA has, they have the space to have the amount of groups/stables. Just as long as the continue to use them the right way...

The Frontline SHOULD have happened. The issue is, whoever is writing TNA has creative ADD and a foul sense of logic.
The point of Frontline should have been to take 5 guys who TNA could see as proper investments for the future of the company and package them as a babyface stable. (Much like they did with the Mafia.) Much like the Mafia the fans should have known exactly who was in the stable, and although Jarret and Foley could have been allies to help them counter the Mafia's pull due to having the World Belt, they shouldn't have been involved in the in ring encounters.
The pay off should have been a Frontline member taking the title off of Sting around the same time that Foley did, thus elevating a new star. In the process by showing that Frontline could compete on the same level as "The greatest assembly of world champions in wrestling history" it would make it seem as if the younger guys are now on their level.
Instead the younger guys needed a revolving door of about 8 guys just to compete. Eventually when they did get competitive and make a dent in the MEM's armour it was due to OLDER guys who were in the same boat as the Mafia as far as old time World Champions. It just enforced the point that the disrespectful younger guys weren't ready or weren't good enough.
It makes me frustrated to see a company that only has to write 2 hours of TV a week be this poor and directionless.
