I'm a huge Shelly and Sabin fan, and I think it's great to see them back on TV on a weekly basis again. The comedy segments they have been doing have been really funny so far, and I think it's helping them get over in another aspect besides there ring work. But do you think TNA is planing to go somewhere with them?
It would be nice to see them in the ring again competing after BFG. By that time I would guess that Beer Money would have the Tag Belts, and I think that would be a perfect time to push the Guns to the titles. They can still do X DIV stuff but there main focus right now should be becoming the top tag team, with later in 2010 at the earliest being the time for a possible split up and epic X DIV Title feud. Just don't want to see them as nothing more than comedy characters.

Considering the split who do you guys think would be face?

I think if they split you would have to go with Sabin being the face. Shelly is just so good at pulling off the cocky heel role, that I think they should start him off there if there trying to push him. Sabin could easily pull it off as a classic face, similar to the character Styles is playing now. They could always do it to though where it's just both guys staying in there current roles and just fighting each other with respect similar to what they did during the Genesis match.

I love how people say they're a huge "Shelly" fan, when they don't even know how to spell the last name properly. It is Shelley.
But you can pretty much guess what TNA will do with them. They'll continue giving them camera time for promos only and then they go back to competing in the ring as a tag team and losing to makeshift teams. I hope it is the opposite result, but I don't think TNA will break them up. Shelley and Sabin combined works, they also work great apart but they've really established them as a group. Even to the point of Sabin not taking offense to Shelley cheating to beat him for the X Division championship.

If it wasn't for the fact the duo are so entertaining, they'd of been released by now. TNA has very little to do with them, but they're improvising because 5 minutes here and there for the duo = ratings.
Hopefully as its been said after BFG they'll be set up with something, maybe in the tag division.
I half wish the Guns would split. I think Shelley could do bigger and better things in the company, and Sabin's been a staple of the X Division almost since day one, so I'd have no problem with him going back there, but Shelley is alot better on the mic, more diverse when allowed to stretch from his cookie cutter "Machine Gun" moveset, and just strikes me as an overall more entertaining and over guy. It's also all well and good having their own announce table, and figuring in backstage segments is cool and everything but they are such great wrestlers, it's a crime that they haven't won the tag gold yet.

I figure they're not going to do anything with the Guns so I'd be all in favor of them splitting, as long as Shelley gets his shot in the Heavyweight division with lots of mic time. I wouldn't want them to feud or some shit though, have them still be allies so when the occasion arises you can have then do little reunions ala the Hardy Boyz. It's insane to me that they haven't been billed as their top tag team.
I mean... INSANE.
Their marketability and popularity is through the roof, I cannot even comprehend why they aren't doing anything with them. And yeah, I get that that's their gimmick now, but that's how they've been treated in general for the last two years.
Moreover, I'm a bit tired of the Guns anyway. I'd love to see Shelley go onto the Heavyweight division as a Jericho-esque character (cocky face) and Sabin with the same gimmick in the X Division. That doesn't mean I think Shelley's better than Sabin, it's just that I think Shelley's more fitting for that division and I'm pretty sure he's much more popular than Sabin.

Agree 100% Both guys have that it factor, that the majority of the guys right now don't have. Like you said they really dropped the ball with both of them in the Tag Division, and hopefully they still plan to use them there, and get them as over as possible as a team. When they do split there's no reason Shelley can't be a top guy for them. He's already a ace on the mic, so he really won't be out of place. With Sabin though he's got aways to go with his mic work, but he could carry the X DIV if they made him the face of it again.

Quoted. For. Truth.
Shelley is the total package as far as I'm concerned. The only thing I dislike about him is that sometimes his selling just looks ridiculous. I think that just comes along with him being a comedic character, though. (Or at least I hope so To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 20 or greater. I agree with the general consensus that it's absurd that they haven't won the tag straps, and that they're not being pushed as TNA's top team. That makes me wish they would split, so this way it would force TNA to feud them and hopefully they'll both be seen in a new light and be given prominent roles on the roster. I guess I'll just continue to be optimistic despite my gut feeling telling me that TNA doesn't have any bigger or better plans for either of 'em.
