The World Elite should've been a babyface faction.
So I occasionally catch TNA on TV but mostly follow the results online and something about the WE faction has been bugging me and now I finally put my finger on it. This faction should totally be a mega-face faction.
Goes like this:
MEM crushed Frontline right? I would've had the same thing. Mafia controls afterwards while TNA tries to fight back but are lacking direction. Eric Young, TNA's mascot essentially. Decides he's had enough and forms the World Elite faction, not featuring the British Invasion or Kyoshi/Bashir. But have it along the same idea with the world's best being included (Americans too) to fight the MEM because TNA and their wrestlers are the World's Elite. This positions a strong babyface faction opposite the MEM. Gives EY the rub without uselessly turning him heel and presents an option to turn him heel down the road.
Re: The World Elite should've been a babyface faction.
So basically what you're saying is that the World Elite should've been the Front Line and babyface? Sure. But if the Front Line just got crushed, what is a slightly different version going to do differently?

Re: The World Elite should've been a babyface faction.
So still led by Eric Young?
So an Eric Young, with less momentum than anyone in the Frontline, forms a stable to beat the Main Event Mafia. Who have more momentum, and it would look super stupid and most likely lose heat if the Mafia were to actually lose.
Oh, and the actual people in the World Elite would become pointless despite all being good entertaining characters. Say what you like but I feel World Elite has everything it needs to do really well.
Re: The World Elite should've been a babyface faction.
Let me elaborate further.
Like I said, Frontline failed. After the failure TNA would be in disarray, and Eric Young (who, for the record, I am not really a fan of.) decides that TNA cannot be saved from the MEM by guys from ECW who don't understand what it's like to come up anymore against all odds like they did before. So it takes TNA originals to combat the Mafia. The people with the largest stake in the companies success. A success being jeopardized by the Mafia.
So Eric Young goes on a recruiting spree bringing together long time members of the TNA roster to combat the Mafia under the banner of the "World's Elite."
If it were up to me EY would be joined by LAX, AJ Styles, Beer Money, Daniels and Abyss taking on the MEM.
The main over arcing storyline though obviously would be getting the titles away from the Mafia. I'm just going to focus on the World title for the moment. I would more or less have everything play out as it was with Angle, Sting, AJ and Morgan with AJ still winning the title and it being a huge nail in the MEM's coffin.
From here I'd spin it out so that EY becomes jealous of AJ down the road stealing his spotlight when it was him who spear headed the movement but now AJ's champ and everyone has forgotten about Eric.
This way EY gets a credible heel turn instead of just being made a faux Chris Jericho and it puts TNA over strong against the Mafia and hell if they were bright a whole new marketing campaign branding TNA's roster as the World's Elite.
Re: The World Elite should've been a babyface faction.
With the expection of Abyss (Unless you count his feud with Nash over the bounty) all the people you named have already tried to defeat the Mafia. L.A.X. right at the start, Styles from the start and Daniels and Beer Money are both doing it now. Pretty much the only thing you are changing is having Eric Young babyface.

I understand that, but the problem is with the current booking when the Mafia finally does go down, there won't be as much satisfaction from the individual efforts as there would be from TNA succeeding as a group.
As it is right now, yes Beer Money is feuding with Steiner/Booker, but as of the last PPV that got kind of convoluted.
Daniels is feuding with Joe. Is Joe even in the Mafia anymore? You don't really hear mention of it.
AJ beat Kurt but and it was a nice moment but it seemed to me the moment was focused on AJ winning the title but not as much on TNA finally getting a huge victory over the MEM.
As individuals their wins are nice and all, but as a group it makes for far more compelling television and in my opinion a far larger emotional investment.

Re: The World Elite should've been a babyface faction.
I do not like this. I think that if you have a faction with ppl from different countries besides the US then you have to have them as heels. Every version of Team Canada was heel. You cannot have a faction of ppl that think they are better than the US. Now i understand that you want EY to make a faction of TNA Originals with no ECW ppl in it but it would not make since. AJ just won the belt. He needs to be like sting in WCW. He fought off the entire NWO and that was the best ratings that WCW got like ever. Everyone wanted to see one guy get over on a bunch of heels. But you guys do realize that this is Russo trying to finish his New Blood storyline
Re: The World Elite should've been a babyface faction.
In almost every case heel stables work out better. With the current TNA landscape in consideration, its a better move to have them as a heel stable. As a babyface stable who would they have feuded with, and how would it have benefited them? I see a lot more matchups for them as heels.
