As of late TNA has insisted on the push of Matt Morgan. He's been involved in a program with Kurt Angle, and my money has it that their pushing for Morgan vs. Angle at BFG (not read spoilers).
My question is, do you agree with the push of Matt Morgan? Would you buy him as a credible main eventer?
my question is, why on earth are they pushing him as a Face / Tweener? Morgan isn't a very likable guy, period. Everything about him screams heel. His promo's, his wrestling style...his overall presence has heel written all over it. Yet, they're insisting on building towards an Angle/Morgan feud, which would obviously leave him playing the role of a Face. It doesn't make much sense in my opinion.
With that being said, I actually do buy him as a credible main eventer. I don't necessarily believe he deserves the position they've given him. I can probably name about 10 guys on TNA's roster who deserve it more, but w/e.
Morgan has been awesome when confronting the main Event Mafia but he's still coming off as a colossal douchey jock prick.. I don't see him panning out as a face.
I think Morgan could work well as an "anti-hero" tweener. His last few sarcastic promos against the MEM have been pretty lol, basically trying to out-asshole the assholes and succeeding. And while he's obviously not the greatest wrestler, he's better than most guys his size and at least has a memorable style (alternating between insecure bully and heroic underdog, depending on his opponent and how the match is going).
Nah, he was never pushed to this extent. They bumped him to mid card status, and he did / has been doing fairly well in my opinion.
Oh, okay. Like I said, I haven't watched TNA in a while so I didn't know the extent of his push this time. I just remember him and Abyss (yeah, it's been that long).

I don't like Morgan. He is not bad as a wrestler, and this is the best angle he's ever been in, but I don't buy him as world champion. I see him as the big wrestler that comes off as a threat but never actually gets the world title.
