That may be true but despite that I'd say he has made the product more entertaining. His backstage segments are usually good and its another big name associated with the TNA product. Again its back to the age old TNA debate of star power and whether stars are worth signing just for the sake of having a big name and drawing ratings. I think Foley is a lot more than just a name. He works hard, is good on the mic, is entertaining and is a good guy to associate with the product. I admit he hasn't done much in the ring but he wouldn't really be expected to. As an authority figure he has been entertaining, to me at least.
Signings like his will raise awareness and create interest in the product. Signing a few "has-beens" is ok if they can still add something and have enough name value to justify it. It's when they sign a "never was" like Stevie that I get annoyed.
And Necro, just for the record, Daniels isn't young himself.
Daniels is 37, and in very good shape. Compared to have a 50 year old Sting holding the belt.
And I have no issue with having old guys in your federation, but they should have a very specific reason for being there.
Like putting over young guys, having solid feuds etc.
Not fighting against each other in title matches.

I've been irritated by Foley being the World Champion and his being put in singles matches, but overall he has been entertaining and made Impact more watchable for the most part, in my eyes at least.
I agree with Steve that his mic skills don't equal his position as an in ring competitor on the shows, but I don't feel the Foley has ever been presented as a main eventer in his own right within TNA. He has "tweaked" his way to the World Title and used his power to keep it. He's competed mostly in multi-man matches, and usually been owned by everyone and had to be rescued in Tags. He's been promoted as a past-it wrestler living off his former glories and cheating to feel that shine again.

Back Foley first won the Title, all i could think is that TNA has turned into a shitty Indy promotion that has its boss as the champ *cough* CZW *Cough* IWA *Cough*. Now thats more of the booking, not foley, but Foley has only been able to add some mainstream credibilty to the company but really thats it. Everything else has been pretty uneventful. But its TNA's perogative to bring in well known stars and push them to the moon, even though they really dont need it.
