iMPACT! #260 - July 2nd 2009 - World Title Main Event
On Thursday night, TNA Wrestling returns to SpikeTV at 9/8c for two hours of Total Nonstop Action as the road to the July 19 "Victory Road" Pay-Per-View epic event continues! Thursday's broadcast will feature three big tag team bouts.
The below is a preview of what will take place on the broadcast - card is subject to change!
- A huge tag team match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship will take place on Thursday night as TNA Founder Jeff Jarrett will team with "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles to battle reigning titleholder Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe! Whoever wins the bout will be declared the TNA World Heavyweight Champion!
- Plus, Jeff Jarrett has vowed that he and Mick Foley will resolve their differences once and for all, for the good of TNA Wrestling!
- How will "The Icon" Sting react to the Main Event Mafia turning their back on the legend and attacking him this past week? No doubt, Sting will be looking to exact revenge on Kurt Angle and the rest of the Mafia!
- In another big tag team match, it will be the legendary Team 3D taking on the tandem of Main Event Mafia members Scott Steiner and Booker T! Which one of these teams will get the shot against Beer Money at Victory Road? Tune in and find out!
- In Knockouts action, it will be Awesome Kong joining forces with Tara to battle Knockouts Champion Angelina Love and Velvet Sky, aka The Beautiful People!
- In addition, "The War Machine" Rhino will take on his former friend Eric Young
All this and much on Thursday night on SpikeTV at 9/8c, plus new matches will be announced for the "Victory Road" Pay-Per-View!

How stupid are they that they have a title match on Impact, even though there is already a title match announced for Victory Road with Angle/Foley? Oh, I wonder who is going to win this one....lol

On all PPV cards for any company they say card is subject to change. Consideing there are still several weeks until the PPV, i dont see it as a problem. If it was the last show before the PPV then it would be a problem.

True but come on, they wouldn't advertise that then change it realistically. It works in a kayfabe sense but it certainly makes it obvious. Plus, the title wouldn't change hands on Impact anyway.
I like Impact a lot more than their PPVs (although Slammy is supposed to be good and thats the only one I'm yet to see) but I think they give too much away on Impact at times. They are always looking to put on huge main events, and it actually overshadows the PPVs. It seems like they put more effort into booking Impact than they do the PPVs, which in my view is a problem.

What is the #389 supposed to be? I know it's not episode count since this will be the 260th episode of Impact.
Every freaking week Jarrett says he is gonna end the situation with him and Foley, it's getting old already.

The listing i looked at earlier today had a colume for episode count beside it. I looked down and they all seemed to be in order so i scolled all the way down to see what number it was currently on. After going back and looking at each number for some stupid fucking reason it jumps from 224 to 353 in one week. 260 looks to be right, 263 weeks with three non impact specials. I thought the number was a bit high but didnt actually count it until now.

In TNA, the title is as likely to change hands on iMPACT! as on a pay-per-view. Some would call it exciting, I call it poor booking.
I don't think this will be one of those all-too-often occurrences. Angle will retain. In an ideal world, AJ Styles would pull of a shocking win. Not a totally ideal world, but a world slightly more ideal than this one.

The way i see it, Styles has the least chance of winning. I'd love to be proven wrong but the fact that he already has a match for Victory Road makes me count him out.
Jarrett i think would make the most sense. If Jarrett was to win we could get Jarrett vs Foley, Angle vs Sting and Joe vs Daniels to go with Styles vs Nash. I'd rather that over the current card, so, i want Jarrett to win!

Blah, I'm sick and tired of seeing the same people holding the TNA Title. Whatever happened to TNA pushing the young gys? You would of thought that by now, someone like AJ would be holding the title.
