Re: iMPACT! - June 25th 2009 - Slammiversary Fallout
Brother Ray vs Brutus Magnus ends in a Draw after several run in's prompt the referee to throw it out. Kiyoshi ends up taking a 3D through a table to end the match/segment.
Samoa Joe arrives at the arena and is greeted by Kurt Angle.
The Main Event Mafia minus Sting come to the ring. Angle invites the newest member out in the form of Samoa Joe. Angle says they decided to bring in Joe once he returned as the Nation of Violence and was kicking ass left, right and center. Angle says the Mafia planned for Joe to take them out to convince Styles that Joe was on his side. Angle apologizes to Sting for not telling him before Mick Foley interupts. Foley wants his rematch at Victory Road. Angle says his contract states that he gets to pick his first opponent, not Foley. Angle then offers Foley a meeting in which they will work out something between the two.
AJ Styles has just arrived and he is looking for Joe.
Jeff Jarrett isnt at the arena tonight but he will be there next week to settle the differences between himself and Foley.
Sarita (Sarah Stock) debuts in three weeks time.
Kevin Nash def Abyss via Pinfall. Dr. Stevie came into the ring and hit Abyss with a taser gun to take him down and give Nash the easy pinfall victory.
Beer Money Inc are in the ring. Beer Money will grant Team 3D there rematch clause anytime, anyplace. Scott Steiner and Booker T seemingly have something to say. Booker tells us that Mick Foley and Angle have made a deal. Foley vs Angle at Victory Road, Nash vs Styles for the Legends title at Victory Road and Booker T and Scott Stiner vs Beer Money Inc for the Tag titles also at Victory Road. Booker also tells Beer Money that they will be in singles action tonight. Team 3D are next to interupt. Team 3D say they are taking the rematch at Victory Road.
Match of 10,000 tacks Taylor Wilde def Daffney via a modified side slam into the tacks.
Velvet Sky says Mi Pi Sexy will do everything to keep the Knockouts title in the soriety.
Team 3D want answers from Foley regarding the tag title situation. Foley suggests a match next week, Team 3D vs Steiner and Booker with the winners going to Victory Road. Brother Ray picks up the barbed wire bat and tells Foley to try again. Foley in turn begs for Team 3D to accept the match. Devon says they will.
Scott Steiner def Robert Roode via Pinfall. Steiner catches Roode off guard and pins him with a backslide.
JB asks angle about Foley's decision to change the tag title situation from what was agreed. Angle says he will take care of Foley next week. Angle again calls himself the godfather, when JB corrects him, Angle insists that he is godfather, not Sting. Mick Foley looks to be in trouble next week with Jarrett and Angle looking to work things out with him.
Foley says he is willing to listen to Jarrett when he apologizes next week. He's also tells Angle that he isnt hard to find.
Eric Young says he has learned that there are no friends in wrestling. Rhino thinks Young has some explaining to do after walking out on him at Slammiversary. Young headbutts Rhino and runs away before he can react.
Booker T is doing a promo when Sharmell interupts and announces that she will be facing Jenna Morasca at Victory Road. Booker doesnt seem happy with the idea but has to go for his match.
James Storm def Booker T via DQ. Booker was getting his ass kicked when Sharmell handed him the beer bottle to smash over the head of Storm and prompt the DQ finish.
Sting is shown backstage.
AJ Styles meanwhile is already in the ring. Styles wastes no time in calling Joe to the ring to face him like a man. Joe oblidges and gets a You Sold Out chant. Styles critises Joe for taking the money instead of the title. Styles wants to know who got inside Joe's head to make him think it was worth joining the Mafia. Joe tells Styles he can ask him himself at Victory Road. Styles and Joe start throwing fists. Styles gets the upper hand but Matt Morgan runs in to help Joe. Daniels is next as he goes after both Joe and Morgan. The Mafia minus Sting again come to the ring to outnumber Styles and Daniels six on two. Sting makes his way to the ring with a bat in hand as the Mafia bails out.
Sting invites the Mafia back into the ring for a nice talk. Sting questions Angle, Angle says he has nothing to do with it. Sting calls Angle pathetic as Morgan tells Sting that Angle didnt have a little to do with it, he had a lot to do with it. Sting calls Steiner a brainless jockhead who plays follow the leader where ever he goes. Sting tells Booker that he doesnt care about anyone but himself. Sting then tells Nash that he expected more from him. Nash says he stood up for Sting but then admits he was in on Morgan taking out Sting. Nash says Sting's plan wasent working but Angle's is. Nash thinks that the honour idea is bullcrap, this is about money. Nash says they bought Joe because they couldnt beat him. Nash says he would love to stand beside Sting but he isnt going to go against the Mafia. Sting says he doesnt buy Nash's story because it's not the Nash that he knows. Sting tells Nash to prove him wrong as he hands the bat to Nash and turns his back. Sting discriectly pulls another bat out of his jacket and takes it to the ribs of Nash before taking out the rest of the Mafia with it. Joe grabs the discarded belt and takes out Sting as the Mafia regroup to try and take out Sting.

The tag division is one of the main reasons I watch this show. I like how TNA actually makes it seem, you know, important. Also, the Sting/Mafia promo at the end impressed the shit out of me, and actually made the end of KotM make perfect sense.

I couldn't see a discussion thread for this weeks Impact, so I assumed this was it, i'm new here so i really don't know, lol. Anyways, I was pretty annoyed that there was no Guns, or Angelina on this show, and i'm sick to death of Impact constantly revolving around The Main Event Mafia. Almost every segment involves Foley, or them. Not just that, but now the MEM are even getting involved with the Tag Titles. Steiner getting a win over Roode? Are you kidding me?
Anyway, my theory on the whole Sting/MEM thing is this; basically, Angle is getting rid of the old, bringing in the new. See, Kurt Angle is using his power to give the MEM members one final moment in the sun before turning on them, with Young, Morgan and Joe because he feels that he's still in his prime, and the others are simply holding him back. He has to do all the work because Steiner, Booker, Nash and Sting have had their best days. Where as Angle may not be like the younger guys, but he would rather work with them, than the current 'older guys' in the MEM.
Not sure if i'm right, hence why I called it a theory, however, I want to believe it'll happen so i'm trying to make it work from what happened on Impact this week. I think in the next few weeks, Angle is going to be spending more time with Joe and Morgan, than the others. Eventually moving away from them, and then after Victory Road, he'll turn on the 'old' members and beat them down, and take their titles. That then pushes the TNA guys into the foundation of TNA, with Angle as their mentor.

Eh, I never looked at it that way, you're right. But i'd rather the likes of Sabin and Shelley go after the titles, instead guys from the MEM tbh. The Guns are long over-due those titles, and i'd like to see them and Beer Money have a feud over them.
