Fuck originality. Get the basics sorted first, then get ambitious.
Well to be fair I understand TNA's logic in trying to invent new matches. It is all to do with trying to distinguish your product from that of the opposition, and they probably think all these ridiculous matches is one of the things which makes TNA stand out. That said, they do a bad job of it because most of the matches are so nonsensical.

I think you're just over analyzing TNA in this post. I mean, naming a street fight with the the city name in it is putting over the city they are in which is good business since they rarely get out.
I personally prefer it to a normal Battle Royal. Battle Royals are natural cluter fucks. At least at the end of some of TNA', we get some decent booking.
Six Sides of Steel is simply a cage match with weapons, and a different name. So what?
You have something against originality?
And they prefer the Texas Death Match to the Last Man Standing Match, so what? They are both widely used, very commong matches. If you've never watched a Texas Death Match then maybe you should look around a little bit. The only thing I'd ask out of them is note it as a TDM instead of a LMS. Especially considering the Angle/Joe one, which is easily their best known "LMS" was a great match.
I have no issue with originality, but it's not original. It's over-booking for the sake of it. Naming every match something fancy does not help one bit in my opinion. The reverse battle royal is far more of a cluster fuck than a normal battle royal, and it's a simply terrible concept. I understand that Six Sides Of Steel is just a cage match, and I have no issue with the SSOS in itself, it's adding weapons into a match that takes place in one big weapon that bothers me. It's pointless and makes it busier than it needs to be.
Like Steve said, originality counts for fuck all if you're not getting the basics right, and TNA aren't getting the basics right.

What makes TNA stand out is the six-sided ring, the pushing of smaller guys and the X-Division (or at least the old X-Division). They don't need a fuckton of ridiculously named gimmick matches to stand out. They need good booking and clever storylines.

I swear I wish I knew how to give you a rep point for saying that. Every TNA ppv has some kind of gimmick match in it. There's a point where an entire ppv of steel cage matches stop being creative and start to become huge clusterfucks.

Bottom left of his post, below his avatar and info is a little icon with +/- REP on it. That's how you give rep points.
And yeah, every PPV isn't even the issue, it's every fucking Impact with at least one gimmick match. Go backwards through the Impacts from this year and I highly doubt you'd find a single one with one gimmick match in it. I'd actually be very interested in finding out the last time an entire episode of Impact aired without some dumb stipulation match on it.
